The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 46

After getting out of the car, Ronan, with an umbrella in his hand, walked into the villa.

Cordelia just came back from Barney's room to Ronan's bedroom.

"Haven't you gotten your stuff back yet?" Ronan asked her.

"Not yet. It's such a drag to always be lugging suitcases around if you keep sending me away," Cordelia replied, “Besides, there were diaries in the suitcase. It'd be safer to keep them in the bedroom.”

"Take your umbrella back. Sleep in the bedroom next door tonight," Ronan handed the umbrella back to Cordelia.

He saw Cordelia's puzzled and upset expression.

"You don’t want this umbrella anymore? I had my friend buy it for you from overseas," Cordelia looked up at Ronan, "It sucks to get rained on."

Whenever Cordelia thought of the time her father got sick, she felt incredibly sad.

Ronan said nothing, but he had already put the umbrella on the bed.

His message was clear: he didn't want the umbrella anymore.

Cordelia didn't know what Deanna and Ronan had just talked about, but his attitude suddenly changed.

"Well, fine then!" Cordelia said, "You don't appreciate people's good intentions! You can just get soaked in the rain."

Thinking that Ronan might have been influenced by Deanna, Cordelia's tone became somewhat cold and bitter.

"Cordelia!" Ronan didn't expect Cordelia to say so, he called out in a low voice.

Cordelia ignored him, picked up her quilt, and headed towards the next room.

Sleeping separately was perfect, this way she could avoid his harassment and get a good rest.

That night, Cordelia didn't come downstairs for dinner.

She lay in bed half the day, not understanding why Ronan suddenly got so angry. She could understand his impatience with her because of Logan, but today he suddenly returned her umbrella, just what was he angry about?

After much thought, she guessed, could it be that Deanna was stirring up trouble, claiming that her umbrella was a fake?

Thinking about this, Cordelia got angry. Why did he listen to everything Deanna said?

Was everything she said the truth?

The next day was a training session for "Lumos Star". As one of the newly selected staff members, this was Cordelia's first time attending.

It just so happened to be Ronan's class.

Generally, he only held these kinds of classes once a month. He would discuss the company's development and macroscopic matters. After all, those present were all potential future managers of his company.

Cordelia sat in the first row, next to Brooklyn.

Ronan, in a grey suit, explained his topics in an in-depth and understandable manner, with a serious demeanor.

Perhaps because he was the president of the company, the young colleagues were all very focused, without any chatter.
