"Are you asking for a sacking?" Since Cordelia made Ronan feel utterly embarrassed and naturally, he was pissed.
He lit a cigarette and then slammed the lighter onto the desk with a loud bang.
"Are you doubting that the umbrella I bought for you is a knockoff?" Cordelia was also fuming.
"You're quite the thinker." Ronan squinted at Cordelia, his eyes unreadable to her.
"Tell me, do you really think that the umbrella is fake?" Cordelia was getting even angrier. It turned out that he was easily influenced by Deanna's instigations.
Cordelia walked over to Ronan with her phone, showing him her chat history with her classmate, Vivian.
"Last Friday, I transferred $1,000 to Vivian. She's not a professional shopper, she was just doing me a favor. Even if she wanted to scam me, she wouldn't be able to find a fake! What else could it be besides the real deal?" After saying this, Cordelia put her phone back in her pocket.
Ronan's anger subsided.
Cordelia scrolled through the texts quickly, but he managed to catch two sentences.
[Who's it for? Such an expensive umbrella?]
[Anyway, it's for someone very important.]
[Boyfriend?]
Cordelia didn't answer.
So, in Cordelia's eyes, he was a "very important person".
"So what are you trying to say?" Ronan's face noticeably softened.
He should have realized earlier that Deanna was deliberately stirring the pot, but he really didn't know how to tell if the umbrella was genuine or not.
And this involved Cordelia...
Cordelia still cared so much about money.
"So, it was wrong of you to make me sleep in the room next door. You nitpick me, allow yourself to make mistakes but not me, and easily believe in rumors." Cordelia was furious thinking about how he had made her move to the next room to sleep because of Deanna's words.
"Can't you sleep alone?" Ronan teased.
"I feel wronged."
"Scared? Want to move back into my bedroom?"
"Don't flatter yourself!" Cordelia answered.
But honestly, Cordelia was a bit scared last night. After all, the Evans family's mansion was huge and she had never been to that bedroom before when she was with the Evans family, it was unfamiliar and naturally she was a bit scared alone.
"You can move back into my bedroom, depending on how you behave." Ronan's lips curled slightly, in a good mood.
Cordelia sneered at the idea of "depending on how you behave", because there is no specific standard for seeing performance, it totally depends on his likes and dislikes.
"I will gradually get used to sleeping alone." Cordelia said with a bitter tone.
"Oh? It seems like you're really not used to it. Is it because you're missing something?" Ronan is usually very serious and rarely jokes around with people, let alone somewhat flirting words like this.
