Harold's arm was in a cast, and his head was wrapped in a bandage. Seeing him like this made Victoria's heart ache.
"What happened? Were you worried your mom would freak out if she saw you like this on a video call?" Victoria asked Harold. "Is it serious? Did they clean the wound properly?"
"Yeah, they took care of it. I just need to rest for a few days," Harold replied. "Hey, Doc, if you've got a minute, could you check in on my mom for me?"
"Sure. Want me to update you after I see her?" Victoria asked.
Harold nodded in agreement.
After the video call, Victoria thought it was time to show her "caring girlfriend" side. She wanted to send Harold some homemade chicken soup and a hearty pork rib stew, but she didn’t know his address and couldn’t ask him directly. He'd definitely tell her not to bother if she did.
Pondering her next move, she decided to reach out to Janice, which would also give her a chance to see how she was doing.
Just then, Cordelia called Victoria, suggesting they put on a little act.
"An act? Count me in. Let's make him squirm!" Victoria said with a wicked grin.
Victoria brought some over-the-counter meds for feminine issues to Ronan's place.
Ronan wasn't home; only Janice was there.
Since her surgery, Janice wasn't in pain anymore and was very grateful to Victoria.
Holding the medicines Victoria had brought, Janice remarked emotionally, "You know, people always say it's good to have a doctor in the family. Look at these meds. Normally, doctors at the clinic would never prescribe them; they just push expensive stuff that doesn't do the trick."
Victoria chuckled, "Aunt Janice, I'm hardly a member of your family yet."
Janice smiled wistfully, "Yeah, that's true."
"Oh, by the way, do you have Harold's address? I'd like to send him something," Victoria asked.
As if Janice's hopes were rekindled by Victoria's question, she eagerly responded, "Oh? What for?"
