"Yeah, it's me and Mr. Evans," Emerson texted Daniella back. "Mr. Evans is keen on using your cutting-edge tech to capture some shots of our Edith Hills. How does that sound, boss?"
"Mr. Evans himself?" she replied.
"Exactly. He doesn't have you on Messenger, so he asked me to set it up."
Daniella pondered for a moment. In the business world, if Ronan ranked second, no one dared claim the first spot. And he left the runner-up far, far behind. Rich didn't even start to describe him. Daniella had never considered partnering with Ronan before, seeing him only as Janice's boss. But now, it seemed like hopping on the Lumos Enterprises express could be a golden ticket to networking nirvana.
Opportunities like this were rare as hen's teeth.
Though a tech whiz at heart, Daniella was a businesswoman through and through. Daniella Technology was just a garden-variety private firm, but a collaboration with Lumos Enterprises could bring untold benefits. The thought made her giddy with excitement.
She shot back a message to Emerson: "Don't you dare be pulling my leg, Mr. Emerson."
Emerson chuckled to himself, knowing all too well her eagerness.
"No joke. Where should I pick you up at nine tomorrow morning?"
"Oh, just come by the XXXX complex. That'll do."
As Emerson noted the address, he figured it was one of those upscale family compounds.
For tomorrow's venture, Daniella handpicked several drones, each costing an arm and a leg, probably because Mr. Evans wanted to create a high-definition, pixel-perfect advertisement for Edith Hills.
The next morning, Emerson arrived to find Daniella surrounded by a mountain of gear.
He glanced at the array of drones - big and small.
"Think these will impress Mr. Evans?" she asked with utmost seriousness.
"Should be just fine," Emerson replied nonchalantly, knowing full well that Ronan's trip to Birchwood had more layers than an onion.
Her solemnity made the situation almost comical.
