The Contracted Ever After novel Chapter 74

The moment Cordelia hit the office, there was a job posting email from the HR Department waiting for her.

It seemed odd to her. She was already an employee of Lumos Enterprises, why send a job posting mail to her? Aren't job postings usually sent to job sites or the company's official website for external recruitment?

She read through the email carefully: the company planned to establish a new Audit Department, which would operate independently from Lumos Enterprises, essentially being a subsidiary of Lumos Enterprises. This department would be led by a well-known auditing expert from Germany named Wyatt, and they were currently hiring both externally and internally. The minimum requirement was a master's degree; preference would be given to those with a CPA certificate.

In addition to this, applicants would have to go through three rounds of tests, including two written tests and one interview.

The job posting was massively appealing to Cordelia.

She really wanted to apply, but she only had a bachelor's degree, not meeting the master's degree requirement.

From the job posting, it was clear that Lumos Enterprises had higher standards than PrimeNumbers Accounting.

In the past, Cordelia thought that PrimeNumbers Accounting's application form was already pretty formal, but compared to Lumos Enterprises, PrimeNumbers Accounting seemed like child's play.

Cordelia was the type of person who found no thrill in easily attainable things. Only things that required hard work and struggle to achieve were valuable to her.

The Audit Department of Lumos Enterprises was like a distant star to her.

Lumos Enterprises was a globally renowned corporation, while PrimeNumbers Accounting was only well-known within the Millstone area.

Between the two, Cordelia quickly weighed her options.

She felt anxious all morning, her qualifications not meeting the requirements of Lumos Enterprises' Audit Department. Plus, she had already filled out the application form for PrimeNumbers Accounting, she felt like she was torn between two options.

At lunch, she expressed her thoughts to Brooklyn while they were eating.

"Obviously, staying at Lumos Enterprises is the smartest choice, moving to Lumos Enterprises' Audit Department would be like an internal transfer, while going to PrimeNumbers Accounting would be like changing jobs and starting from scratch," Cordelia said, "But my qualifications don't meet the requirements of Lumos Enterprises' Audit Department."

"What's so hard about that? You can ask your hubby for help," suggested Brooklyn.

Brooklyn didn't foresee that Ronan would move so quickly to stop Cordelia from jumping ship.

Touching her cheek, Cordelia said, "I don't really want his help."

In the past, she asked Ronan for help because she needed a steady job and income. Now, she wanted to realize her personal value. If she asked Ronan for help, people in the company would definitely say she got the job through nepotism, she wanted her career as an accountant to be unblemished.
