The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha novel Chapter 32

After Alexandra and Nathaniel had a fallout over Olivia and parted ways, Alexandra hasn't been able to stop thinking about it. Closing her eyes, intending nothing more than to slowly drift to sleep, her mind keeps drifting off to the scene with Nathaniel. Playing and replaying every moment drove her crazy and she just couldn't take it anymore.

The night may be young and even though she wanted her beauty sleep, Alexandra couldn't get it since Nathaniel won't stop invading her mind. Standing up, she stretches her body, walking out of the room into the dark hallway, flipping the switches so as not to trip and fall.

Alexandra walks down the stairs, hearing sobbing tears coming from the dining room as she enters the living room. A lot of things run through her mind, and she wonders who was crying, abruptly halts as she comes in contact with Veronica sitting in the dining room, drinking and weeping bitterly. Alexandra rolls her eyes, aware of what had eaten her up. Her family were such drama queens whenever it came to Olivia, they make it seem like a big deal when it is not and when it comes to her, no one cares, all they do is maltreat her but all that didn't bother her for what she wanted so badly was just Revenge.

Hearing footsteps approaching, Veronica gulps down her glass of wine, lifting her eyes, and meets Alexandra's gaze, her eyes filled with a lot of emotions.

"Oh is you" She sighs, tirelessly

"Is midnight and you are drinking"

"Mind your own business, you are in no place to ask me such a question"

"True but shouldn't you be sleeping?"

"What about you Alexandra? Why are you still awake? Isn't it past bedtime for young people like you"

"I came to get water, couldn't sleep"

Veronica scoffs, pouring another glass of wine. "Tell me about it. Have your water and leave, do not disturb me"

Nodding her head affirmatively, Alexandra enters the kitchen, walking towards the fridge, she pours a glass of chilled water, gulping it down, lowers the glass, running her hand through her hair.

"Nathaniel I bet you are sleeping soundly like a baby" she seethes and leaves.

As she walks past Veronica, Alexandra halts. "Alcohol isn't good for you, is past midnight"

"Shut up, who are you to lecture me? Didn't I tell you to leave once you've had your water"

"I have and was leaving but I couldn't bear to see you this way again, you were crying earlier and now you are crying as well. What happens tomorrow? Will you be drinking and crying as well?"

"Is not like it should bother you"

"It bothers me, how many times do I have to tell you that?"

Veronica rolls her eyes and takes a sip of her wine. "Get lost"

"Why are you crying? I don't get it, no one died, or did someone die and I know nothing about it, is it Olivia? Is she dead?" She gasped, dramatically.

Hearing those words, Veronica lowers her glass and Alexandra smiles inwardly aware that she had stroked a nerve.

"What did you just say?"

"Did someone die?"

"Before that"

"I don't get it, no one died"

"After that"

"Did someone die and I know nothing about it"

"After that"

"Is it Olivia? Is she dead?"
