The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha novel Chapter 8

It was chilly and quiet, and suddenly Alexandra heard footsteps approaching the door. She was certain it meant one thing-the enemy has arrived, and sooner than later, they will be led behind closed doors with wicked eyes gawking at them, boring holes into their bodies.

A chill runs through her spine and Alexandra tenses up. By this time, Nathaniel's eyes were still firmly fixed on her, as he notices the sudden change in her body, he quickly holds her arm dragging her away from the door, and they duck around in a corner.

Alexandra widens her eyes, trying to say something but Nathaniel quickly puts his huge palms over her mouth, glances at the door as Olivia opens the door, peeps through but doesn't see anyone, she enters the house slamming the door.

Nathaniel loosens his grip staring into her eyes, she stares back, bewildered, and attempts to say something when her stomach grumbles.

"You've not eaten"

Embarrassed, Alexandra glances around trying to form the right words, and attempts to speak but chokes on her words as Nathaniel holds her arm, dragging her along.

Alexandra stares at him, a lot of things running through her head as they enter the restaurant. She was already aware of who he was and had heard stories about Alpha Nathaniel, some had even tagged him the great evil since he was good at one thing; subduing his enemies and stabilizing his Alpha position. Alexandra didn't think he had another side of him since no one talked about it. lost in thoughts, she didn't even realize, the waiter had already served them and left until Nathaniel gently tapped her arms causing her to jerk.

"Are you okay?" He asks, concerned

Pulling back to reality, Alexandra gawks, seeing the full-course meal set on the table.

"Excuse me, are all these for us?"

"No. Is for you to eat"

Alexandra's eyes widened, she had never had such a large meal all to herself and wasn't the type who ate a lot.

"I can't finish this"

"No wonder you're so skinny and your skin is pale"

Alexandra glares at him. "Says who? In my pack, I have received tons of compliments for my soft skin. Some even said I smelled like flowers"

Nathaniel scoffs unbelievably. "Don't get carried away by such petty flattery, they were just buttering you up because you're the Alpha"

"Of course not, they're not like that, my pack members are the best, they call a spade a spade"

"Alright now eat"

Alexandra picks up her cutlery, cuts a piece of meat, and attempts to put it into her mouth, gazes at Nathaniel.

"What will you be doing while I eat?"

"Watching you"

"You're in my territory, some of my pack members come here, and they might think that I'm maltreating you"

Leaning towards her, Nathaniel whispers. "Of course you're, you are maltreating me by starving now eat" He states the latter, sternly and Alexandra digs into her food.

As Nathaniel gazes at her while she savors the mouth-watering pork meat, he couldn't deny the fact that her skin was soft and delicate, the memory of her body tensing up runs through his mind but he pushes it aside. Deep down, he did not doubt that she was a strong woman, An Alpha who could defeat anyone who messes with her.

The sky darkens and a heavy wind blows, casting lightning bolts across the city. Alexandra pauses on her food, staring out the window.
