A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 292

The word "bastard" must've struck a nerve in Logan. His eyes turned red as he screamed out—

"I'm not a bastard!"

His youthful yet firm voice caught everyone in the room off guard, even Elodie seemed to be taken aback by Logan's outburst. Regaining her composure, she roared at Logan, "The nerve of you! You haven't even been formally accepted into the Crowe family and you're already raising your voice at your elders!"

"You're the one who called me a bastard first!" Logan, cradled in Orson's arms, was clearly frightened, but even in his fear, he clung to his principles, "You disrespected me first! How would you feel if someone called you a bastard? Why should I show respect when you've insulted me?"

His speech was articulate, his voice shaky but his tone resolute. Elodie, pointing at Logan with trembling fingers, spat out, "Fine, keep up your smart mouth and see if we'll acknowledge you as part of the Crowe family!"

"I was never a Crowe to begin with! My name is Logan, Logan Tang!" He stood his ground against Elodie, "Look at yourself now! You're the one lowering your own standards!"

Did this brat just say she had no class?

Elodie's eyes seethed with anger, her attendants quickly moved to grab Logan, presumably for some 'family discipline'—which in plain terms meant a beating behind closed doors.

But Orson was nimble, easily dodging the servants' advances. With a swift kick, he sent a nearby stool flying towards them, forcing Elodie to dodge with the help of her attendants. "Orson! Are you willing to break with the Jungle Union over this misbegotten child?"

"I never had any desire to be the golden boy of the Jungle Union!" Orson's voice was cold as ice, "Push me further, and I won't hesitate to burn bridges!"
