A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 296

"I don't know what Mr. Crowe's agenda was in bringing my son to the Jungle, but make no mistake, he is my Yvan's flesh and blood!"

Those words struck a chord in Logan, who trembled slightly as he sought comfort in Orson's embrace.

Hadrian turned to Orson, his voice deep and grave, "My prodigal son, do you have anything to say in your defense?"

Stealing someone's child and claiming him as your own illegitimate offspring, no wonder the Boyd family's eldest came knocking with vengeance in his eyes! How could Orson stand his ground now?

Orson's face turned ghostly pale, unable to utter a single word of explanation.

Truth be told, Orson had never admitted to anything about the illegitimate child. It was only during their last video call that he'd played along with Logan to dismiss that woman named Zinnia. But who could have guessed that she would turn around and spill the beans to his mother, Elodie? Consequently, Elodie took it for the gospel truth and forcibly took Logan away, using him as leverage to coerce Orson back into the Crowe family fold!

Orson remained silent, his mouth sealed shut.

Hadrian, realizing that their Jungle Union had crossed a line first, grabbed a glass from the side and hurled it with precision at Orson's forehead. The glass shattered on impact, shards flying and slicing near Orson's eyes!

Blood gushed forth, tension at the breaking point!

That cut was mere millimeters from his eye, yet Orson didn't so much as blink, bearing the pain stoically.

This mess was indeed partly Orson's doing. Some explanations were too tiresome to utter, but dragging Logan into this was his burden alone.

Orson turned to look at Yvan, who was approaching him step by step.

He let go of Logan and said, "Go to your dad."

Logan looked back at Orson, tears welling up, "Uncle Orson..."

His sensitivity was innate; he must have sensed something, perhaps even that Orson was not truly related to him by blood.

Yvan remained silent, taking Logan's hand. Surprisingly, Logan didn't resist and glanced at Yvan.

One must learn to discern right from wrong, and at this moment, Yvan's intervention was indeed a salvation for him. So, Logan managed a "Thank you."

Then Hadrian, still bleeding, sneered at Orson, "You disgrace of a son! Kneel!"

Kneel!

His own father was demanding that he kneel!

Orson let out a bitter laugh, mocking who knew what, "And what if I don't?"

"Then I'll beat you until both your legs are broken!"

The old are indeed cunning; Hadrian's aura was particularly fierce and merciless, even affecting Yvan with his murderous intent. To treat his own son this way... Could Hadrian truly be indifferent?

At this juncture, Elodie lost her former defiance and approached Hadrian with tears in her eyes, "My lord, if our son has been disobedient, I share in the blame..."
