A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 333

Godfrey watched the young boy before him and spoke softly, "Logan, being a prodigy is your asset, but it can also bring trouble, you know?"

Having a mind far beyond his years was a double-edged sword. Logan, despite his tender age, was undeniably brilliant, a true child prodigy. But with that brilliance came adverse effects, potentially steering the course of his future in unforeseen ways.

Logan nodded, "I understand."

So, he played his part well in front of others. He carefully guarded all his cunning, knowing when to advance or retreat. Talented yet humble, how profound could a child's heart be?

Godfrey clicked his tongue in admiration, "You impress me."

"I'm impressed by you too," Logan looked into Godfrey's eyes and said softly, "To be born into privilege yet able to mingle in the simplest of places among common folk. You know what you want and are not blinded by wealth. I respect that."

"Then let this be our little secret," Godfrey extended his pinky to Logan, "Let's promise not to show off. Staying under the radar can protect a person. You wouldn't want to be exposed, right?"

Logan recognized this as Godfrey's way of guiding him on how to navigate life and happily agreed, sealing their promise with a pinky swear, a pact never to deceive each other. The two shared their thoughts in the night, and then Godfrey said, "Alright, time for bed. Thinking so hard every day, your brain must be tired. And no matter how mature you are, your body is still that of a child's. What if you push yourself too hard?"

"Okay."

Logan hopped down from the couch, meticulously restoring all the icons on his computer to their original places, then cleaned the system and rebooted it to ensure no trace of his activities remained before shutting it down. Tiptoeing to his room, he waved to Godfrey before closing the door, whispering, "Goodnight, Godfrey!"

"Good night," Godfrey smiled back.
