A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 376

"Ugh," Keaton coughed, his fist at his mouth, before clearing his throat. "All done with the stitches. Just make sure to keep it clean."

Matilda remained silent while Yvan seemed eager to say something more. However, Matilda pulled away from his embrace, her movement swift as if she wanted nothing to do with him.

Turning to face him, her eyes, dark and intense, fixed on Yvan. "We did have a history, didn’t we?"

Yvan, lost for words, remained silent.

The silence stretched, and Keaton, realizing he might have misspoken, scrambled for a way out. "Look, Matilda, whatever needs to come back to you, will. Don't overthink it…"

"No need."

Matilda turned, her icy gaze reminiscent of the prideful heiress of the Thompson family she once was. Defiant by nature, she was full of an unyielding spirit, staring down Yvan, "I guess you're not exactly one of the good guys."

Yvan felt a sting in his chest at her words, managing a wry smile, "Indeed, I'm not one of the good guys."

"You don't have to cover my medical bills anymore."

As Matilda walked away, she declared, "I don’t want to owe you anything."

Her attitude was just as it had been before the amnesia.

She was indebted to no one!

As Matilda left, Yvan watched her go, then turned to Keaton, who felt a bit guilty under his gaze. "What... It was the truth, wasn't it?"

"Yes, all of it was the truth."

Yvan stood there, his eyes reddening, a cold laugh escaping him, "She was bound to leave me eventually."

The battle between love and hate is endless.
