A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 377

"Pass along my thanks to him."

Matilda took the amusement park tickets, "I'll ask Chloe if she's up for it. Let's head out this weekend."

Matilda was in good shape despite her recent hospital stay. When she mentioned wanting to take a little trip, the staff gave their blessing but reminded her to be mindful of her healing wounds. Logan, ever the protective son, asserted firmly, "I'll make sure nothing happens to my mom!"

His declaration earned a chuckle from the nurse, "I believe you, you're quite the little trooper!"

It was common knowledge throughout the hospital that Matilda had an exceptionally clever son. Even at his young age, he was the envy of every parent, the epitome of the child "everyone wishes was theirs."

Holding Logan's hand, Matilda stepped out in clothes Chloe had brought her, feeling a slight sting in her back as she moved. To the onlookers, her slender figure seemed almost ethereal, a wandering spirit. Together, they left the hospital and took the express train back to Sea City, arriving at the amusement park by the afternoon.

When Yvan learned of Matilda's return to Sea City, his pupils contracted slightly. Carl then cautiously informed him, "Mr. Boyd, Ms. Thompson and the young master are off to the amusement park. Perhaps..."

Without a moment's hesitation, Yvan cleared his schedule, grabbed his car keys, and demanded, "Let me know her itinerary. I'm going to take a look."

"Taking a look" meant, of course, watching her from a distance, unbeknownst to her.

As Matilda and Logan queued for the amusement park, their names were registered, and Yvan received an update: "Mr. Boyd, Ms. Thompson's name has appeared on the visitor list. They must have gone in."

"Good," Yvan responded to the person on the other end of the phone. "You go in too. I've arranged for the park management to let you in through the back. Make sure they're safe."

"Understood, Mr. Boyd."

Lately, there had been a noticeable shift in Yvan's attitude towards Ms. Thompson, who he previously disregarded but now seemed to cherish. The staff couldn't help but gossip, musing over how men often realize who their true love is only after she's gone.
