A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 406

The day Matilda woke up wasn't a weekend, so as usual, Yvan was swamped with work. He'd normally carve out time for her, but with the fiscal year-end approaching, the company had a slew of accounts to settle, which meant Yvan's visits had become scarce lately.

Orson took a seat, "I came to see how you're doing."

His voice retained its usual aloofness, but Orson, without his glasses, seemed even more detached.

Perhaps the glasses had once masked the intensity in Orson's eyes, making him appear a bit more like Gideon.

Now, without the glasses, his icy demeanor set him apart from Gideon completely.

Matilda massaged her temples, then slowly let out a breath, "Thanks for coming to see me."

But it was obvious he could have used the main entrance; why opt for climbing the wall? Such a risky move could have ended disastrously...
