A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 450

This is... their grandson, the Boyd family's little treasure.

With a crisp voice, Logan called out, "Grandpa, you're here. It's my first time meeting you, my name is Logan."

Noel squatted down, rummaging through his pockets, finding nothing suitable to give. So, he slipped the large agate gold ring off his thumb and placed it onto Logan's hand. The middle-aged man was meeting his grandson for the first time and his hands trembled slightly, "Hello, hello... I..."

"Grandpa, don't be nervous. Mommy said you've been wanting to meet me too." Logan smiled, squinting his eyes. He knew right from wrong; just because his father wasn't a great man didn't mean his grandpa was bad too. So, he pulled out a piece of candy from his pocket, "Here, let's trade! This is for you!"

Noel looked at the candy in his palm, feeling his heart melt.

"Your name's Logan, right?"

"Mhmm!" Logan glanced at Noel's hair, "Grandpa, you've got some gray hairs."

Yes, he was indeed old enough to be a grandfather now. Noel wished he could give everything he owned to Logan but feared scaring him, so he just held his hand, "If anyone ever bullies you or your mom, you call me, okay?"

Yvan, that rascal! To think he let down such a wonderful mother and son, what have the Boyds done to deserve this!

"Sure." Logan took a piece of paper from his pocket and asked a waitress for a pen, jotting down a number, "This is my cell number, Grandpa. You can call me."

"You have a phone?" Noel was surprised, "Want a new one? Grandpa can buy it for you."

"No need, the little phone Mommy gave me works just fine." Logan smiled, "And you've already given me a big ring! I gotta go hide it."
