Orson's grip tightened.
Declan sneered, "It's just a dog, mate. What, you running here to escape someone chasing you?"
Orson's eyes flickered, a storm brewing within.
Matilda stood in shock, unable to process the sudden turn of events.
Orson remained still, like a statue amidst the chaos.
Ignoring the tension, Chloe piped up, "Why do you always have to attack others? What did you come here for during the holidays? Just to humiliate us?"
Declan whirled around, his hand snapping around Chloe's neck. Godfrey saw red and lunged at him, but Declan pulled Chloe into a protective embrace, like a wild animal guarding its territory. "Back off!"
Chloe's scream sliced through the air, and the room plunged into chaos.
That's when Logan shouted, "Everyone, freeze!"
Declan and Godfrey halted, taken aback.
The young boy stood between them, his eyes blazing with fierce intensity. "What's all this about, then?"
It was absurd, really. Grown adults paused in their tracks by a kid's command, turning the whole debacle into a farce.
Logan clenched his fists, facing Declan. "Declan... did you come here to wish us a happy New Year?"
He posed the question boldly, his gaze direct and honest, catching Declan off guard.
