A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 537

Matilda looked like a deer caught in the headlights, and it broke Yvan's heart to see her this way. He knew deep down it was all because of the pressure he put on her.

Yvan's usually pale face was smeared with blood. "Matilda... please, calm down!"

Logan, tears staining his cheeks, pleaded, "Mom, I'm sorry. I won't do it again. Don't be scared, I'm right here..."

Matilda was trembling all over, like a scared animal. She was in a state of shock, and as Yvan held her, drops of blood from his nose fell onto her shoulder.

Orson came into the room upon hearing the commotion and was met with the sight of Matilda, horror-struck in Yvan's embrace. He flicked on the light and demanded, "Let her go!"

Yvan, seeing Orson, could feel the judgment in his eyes as Orson frowned. "What happened here?!"

Matilda turned around and saw Orson, but she screamed for her brother instead.

Yvan, not even bothering to clean himself up, insisted on taking Matilda to the hospital, with Orson shouting after them, "Stop!"

Yvan's hands were shaking. "She's in shock, she needs to be stabilized..."

"Leaving her be would be the best way to stabilize her," Orson countered, stepping closer for a confrontation, but Yvan stood his ground. "I'll leave, but only after she's seen by a doctor!"

Logan stayed out of the conversation between the two men, feeling the tension was far scarier than any argument between Declan and Godfrey could ever be.

Eventually, Yvan and Orson, with Logan in tow, rushed Matilda to the hospital. Godfrey, who lived further away, was oblivious to the drama that unfolded in the living room, only to find out upon waking that Matilda and Logan were gone.

When Matilda woke up, her face was as pale as the moon, with medication laid out beside her:

- Escitalopram tablets.

- Tandospirone citrate capsules.
