When Matilda heard those words, it felt as if a surge of blood rushed straight to her brain, bringing with it a flood of negative thoughts, depressive notions, and that overwhelming desire to just... destroy everything.
Logan's ear was bleeding profusely, a sight so alarming that Matilda couldn't help but gasp, "Could his eardrum be ruptured? Logan, does your ear hurt?"
The only things Logan could hear were a constant buzzing and the chaotic sound of his blood rushing, apart from that, total silence.
Tears streamed down the little boy's face as he looked up, lost and vulnerable, "Mommy…what did you say…I can't hear…"
I can't hear…
Those words were the final straw that broke Matilda's last semblance of rationality.
She fiercely pushed Yvan away, her eyes burning with rage, all her emotions erupting like a volcano, those intense, mad thoughts consuming any bit of calm she had left!
Opal locked eyes with her, defiance in her gaze, "What now?! You still think you can fight me?"
"I'll kill you—!!" Matilda let out a scream filled with fury, "I'll kill you—!!"
She grabbed a kitchen knife, used for cutting fruit, and charged at Opal, "Even as a ghost, I won't let you be!"
Opal and Rachel screamed, while Yvan stepped forward, grabbing Matilda by the waist, "Have you lost your mind?!"
"Yes! I've gone mad, completely mad!"
Matilda's hand, clutching the knife, trembled uncontrollably, "She slapped my son so hard his eardrum burst, what if he's disabled? Yvan, that's your child too, doesn't your heart ache?!"
The pain was almost too much to bear!
