A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 550

He mustered all his strength, each word heavy with intention, as he faced Rachel and said, “Stop testing my patience, Rachel. I don’t want to lose even the last shred of pity or guilt towards you.”

Rachel’s face turned ghostly pale!

What did Yvan mean by saying that? Did he know everything? Did he know about her ulterior motives...

Later, Rachel was led away, sobbing and crying out, “Yvan, please don’t do this. I don’t know why you’re looking at me like that, but it’s not true. I’m sincere about you—”

“Sincere my foot! Save it for the ghosts!” Keaton watched her being escorted out and kicked the door shut. It was, without a doubt, the day he swore the most.

Turning back, he came with another group of doctors, looking sternly at Logan and Matilda, now held in Yvan’s embrace, “I’ve called in a favor from a top surgeon for my boy. Matilda, get on the bed and let’s treat that wound. Hurry, we need to get Logan to the ER!”

Logan’s ears throbbed with a piercing pain, as if needles were being driven straight into his brain. The poor kid’s face turned pallid with agony, tears streaming down his cheeks.

“Mommy, it hurts... it really hurts...”

He reached out, grabbing at anyone near him. Matilda was sedated and asleep, unaware of Logan’s cries. His whole body convulsed with pain, and when he tried to cover his ears, it only hurt worse.

The little boy gasped for air, “Mommy, my ears hurt so much... my head hurts too...”

Seeing the blood trickle down from Logan’s ear, Yvan’s heart clenched. Logan’s helpless cries for his mommy had Yvan instinctively pulling him closer, “Daddy’s here, mommy’s going to be okay...”
