On that day in the car, Yvan began to suspect the kind of company his son was keeping. The tone of the conversation suggested these were not your run-of-the-mill, law-abiding citizens.
“What if you’re playing with fire here, Logan? Are you absolutely sure this is foolproof?” Yvan couldn’t shake off his concerns. “Besides, you’re young. What if they’re deceiving you?”
“No way,” Logan assured, locking eyes with Yvan. The father and son shared strikingly similar features, even down to their expressions. “I’ve met them. Plus, when we were being chased, they didn’t hesitate to grab their sniper rifles to help us out. Doesn’t that earn them some trust?”
“Alright, I just wanted to let you know we could start with Hadrian and then take control of the people in the Jungle Union,” Logan stated bluntly, revealing their intentions. “That way, we might be able to deal with the hitmen because in the Jungle Union, Hadrian’s word is law. If he orders them not to touch us, nobody will dare to disobey.”
“That does sound like a solid plan,” Yvan mused, his posture exuding an aura of authority as he pondered carefully, not wanting to make a wrong move. “I’ve considered this approach before but couldn’t find Hadrian.”
“Leave it to me. We can do it,” Logan said, his eyes gleaming with determination. “There’s no one my mentor can’t find.”
“Oh?” Yvan raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Logan’s high praise of his mentor. “And who might your mentor be?”
After a moment, Logan decided to confide in Yvan. “R7CKY. He has a partner named Ventus.”
Yvan’s pupils contracted at those names, as if he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
These names… he had only heard them in the context of underground assassination blacklists, never from his own son.
