When Yvan and Cyprian left, they made sure to drop everyone from the studio home. Especially Yvan, the way he looked at Matilda as he left cast a shadow over her without warning.
It was the first time she'd seen such emotion in Yvan's eyes. Not the usual intimidating aura, but a profound heaviness, a sense of powerlessness against the world.
Now, with only Chloe and Godfrey by her side, Matilda finally felt at ease, bombarding them with questions about their relationship, to which Chloe blushed and answered.
"Look, I know you're worried. But I really want to make it work with Godfrey, don't overthink it."
Chloe patted Matilda's hand reassuringly. "Once you're feeling up to it, we'll get you out of here and take you home. How about we do a photoshoot outdoors?"
Matilda laughed, "Bringing me home is just a formality, huh? You're really after the photoshoot?"
"Smart cookie!" Chloe snapped her fingers. "Asuka's team needs a leading lady for their shoot, someone with an air of aloofness, and you instantly came to mind. So, if you're feeling better, let's go for an audition."
"You're planning on launching me, aren't you?" Matilda chuckled. "Let's not make a big deal out of it, a discreet shoot will do."
"No, what we're aiming for is a glorious comeback."
Chloe locked eyes with Matilda. "Listen, sweetheart, I won't push you into the spotlight, nor will I let anyone invade your privacy. We just want you to be part of a cover story, face and all, because the theme of this story..."
Chloe paused, letting the suspense build before continuing.
"...is called 'Phoenix Rising from the Ashes.'"
Matilda was deeply moved, then looked down and whispered to Chloe, "Thank you... I'll think about it."
