A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 603

To atone for the pain inflicted upon Matilda by his own family and for his past weakness and inaction, Yvan found himself grappling with a profound sense of responsibility.

Later, Yvan rose to pour himself a glass of red wine, gazing out the floor-to-ceiling windows at the night skyline. It was then that a thought struck him.

"Hey, it's me."

He dialed a number, reaching out to another man, "Got something I wanna talk about."

...

Adrian was jolted awake by a late-night call. It was Yvan on the line.

He mentioned wanting to talk about something.

Truth be told, aside from their mutual affection for Matilda, they hardly had any common ground. Yet, whenever Yvan interacted with Adrian, it was usually with a sense of rivalry, even though they occasionally had to join forces.

Adrian chuckled softly, curious about the urgent nature of Yvan's call, "Should I come over, or you wanna come here?"

"I'll come over. Give me your address," Yvan's voice was ice-cold, a stark contrast to Adrian's playful tone, "This is serious, no time for jokes."

Adrian, ever the easygoing one, even in the face of a romantic rival, replied, "Come over to my place. My sister and parents are out of town. You can crash here if you want."

Yvan agreed and soon found himself at Adrian's doorstep, greeted by Adrian in his pajamas, casually smoking a cigarette. Adrian's green eyes sparkled mischievously as he met Yvan's intense gaze, "Scary eyes you got there."
