A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 609

Yvan watched Violet for a long time, recalling the fearless words Adrian had once said.

“Isn’t Matilda single? Why shouldn’t I go after her?”

Why not, indeed?

He furrowed his brows slightly, a complex emotion flickering in his eyes before he turned to Violet and said, “Mom, could you pack up the soup?”

Violet was taken aback, “What for? Are you taking a packed lunch?”

“No.”

Yvan suddenly seemed to light up with realization, offering his mother a rare smile, “I’m going to take this soup over to your grandson right now.”

Realizing what Yvan intended to do, Violet’s eyes welled up with tears, “Okay, okay… just give me a moment. What else does Logan like? Should I make him a salad? Oh, and don’t forget to give him that necklace…”

“I won’t forget. Don’t worry about making too much. It’ll just be messy. The pigeon soup will be enough.”

“All right, all right.” Violet quickly agreed, soon emerging with a thermos bag, “Be careful on the road.”

“Yeah.”

Yvan took the thermos and left, heading straight for Matilda’s house in Whty City.

...

At 7 p.m. that night, someone knocked on Chloe’s front door. She was brushing her teeth in her pajamas when she opened the door to find Yvan standing outside, his handsome face framed by a crisp suit, holding a bag that nearly made her spit out her toothpaste in surprise.
