A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 695

Rachel gazed at Ella, now a shell of a person lying in the hospital bed, and a cold smirk played at the corners of her mouth.

This sister of hers, who once thought herself clever enough to get rid of Rachel, had been outsmarted at her own game. Rachel had turned the tables on her, effectively eliminating Matilda and, at just the right moment, stepping back into the spotlight to expose Ella's crimes, casting herself as the perfect victim.

So, it wasn't an accident that Rachel had been harmed by Ella five years ago; it was all part of her plan. She'd played the part of a victim to perfection, convincing everyone that she, too, had suffered because of Ella's supposed push down the stairs, which is why she'd been laying low, avoiding Ella all these years.

In reality, Rachel had enabled Ella's ruthless behavior, only to emerge as the ultimate victor!

It was Rachel who had someone turn Ella into a vegetable, a state from which she could never speak again, ensuring all the blame stayed squarely on Ella's shoulders. Ella deserved every bit of her fate, manipulative and cruel—while Rachel, she was just an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire.

Rachel stood up from her wheelchair, yes, stood up.

She was supposed to be wheelchair-bound for life.

But she, in fact, was not disabled.

The broken legs were a fabrication, a story spun to garner Yvan's guilt, making him believe the incident five years ago had catastrophic consequences and that he owed her something, hence the feigned disability!

Rachel gently touched Ella's face, knowing she was in a vegetative state, and laughed with a sense of triumph, almost maniacally, "Oh, Ella, competing with me for a man? You never saw it coming, did you? Poor thing, used by me, then utterly defeated, now a vegetable who can't even speak. Aren't you satisfied?"

There was a sinister gleam in Rachel's eyes, "You should be thanking me, your dear sister, for my mercy. Otherwise, I would've erased you from this world long ago. We're sisters, after all, and I only turned you into a vegetable. You should be grateful for my leniency, especially since you did take care of Matilda for me, haha~~"

After her tirade, Rachel paused before her hand found Ella's throat, as if she wished she could strangle her, "I overestimated you. I thought I could let you and Matilda duke it out, then step in after you'd taken care of her and easily dispose of you. You were only ever a stand-in for me, tolerated by Yvan because your face resembles mine."

Rachel's voice suddenly rose—"But you were so useless, couldn't even handle Matilda, forcing me to intervene personally, risking exposure of my whereabouts overseas several times!"

Overseas... So, Rachel was the mysterious figure abroad!

"Utterly useless, failing to eliminate Matilda and revealing your true colors. No wonder Yvan treated you so poorly; you're an embarrassment to me." Rachel shook her head in disdain, "Oh, Ella, my dear sister, you just didn't have what it takes. So, it was up to me to take matters into my own hands, using your kidnapping of Logan as the perfect excuse to abduct you, then leave you in this vegetative state. I could then rightfully throw all the blame on you and make my grand return. Look at me now, haha, everything the Boyd family has will be mine once again!”
