A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 749

Vinegar tycoon Yvan couldn't take his eyes off Matilda and Mark for a long time, finally turning to his assistant and asking, "What's that guy's name again?"

"You know, I mentioned last time, he's the eldest son of the Walker family from Whty City," Carl whispered back.

"What's their business?"

"Hotels and high-end cosmetics," Carl added. "Because of the cosmetics brand, he's got a bit of a connection to the fashion world, knows Eugene and Criss too."

Those names sounded familiar, probably crossed paths before, but slipped his mind again.

"He's well-connected, huh?" Yvan couldn't hide his envy, "Is he good-looking?"

Carl, missing the undercurrent in Yvan's question, naively answered, "Pretty... pretty handsome."

Yvan was livid, wishing he could strangle his assistant then and there, "You're praising his looks in front of me? Between him and Matilda, and me and Matilda—"

Carl cut him off, "I rarely see you and Matilda together."

Ouch—that hit Yvan like an arrow to the chest.

Why on earth did he choose Carl as his assistant? He was driving him insane!

Later, when Matilda saw Logan sitting quietly in class, she felt relieved and stepped out of the classroom with a sigh.

"Don't worry about him getting bullied," Chloe reassured her. "If he got into high school, he's got brains. He won't let himself be taken advantage of."

As Matilda and a few friends walked back, responding to Chloe, "Being smart is one thing, but I'm worried about bullying, he's not big enough to fight back."
