A Journey from Bitterness to Truth (Matilda and Yvan) novel Chapter 768

Twenty minutes later, under the cloak of night, two cars arrived one after the other at the military hospital. The moment they hit the brakes, tires screeched against the pavement, kicking up a haze of dust. When they reached the entrance, they saw Cyprian standing there, arms crossed, a stern look on his face, "What happened? How come someone from your end got shot all of a sudden?"

Yvan approached and said, "Sorry for the disturbance. I was called over last minute. This is Matilda's friend. So, Cyprian, can you help us out?"

Cyprian glanced at the pale-faced R7CKY being carried out, the dense night making it hard to discern his features. He frowned and sighed, "Alright, you guys, if you can hide your identities, do it. This place is directly under central command's scrutiny. Even if I vouch for you personally, we're still at risk of sudden inspections, so be careful."

Lance had already tucked his hair under a hat, leaving only his striking eyes visible. He was, after all, a man more beautiful than most women.

The group followed Cyprian into the hospital, and using his access, he secured a sterile operating room for them. Once R7CKY was inside, they began a tense and swift examination. Cyprian waited outside, and Ventus joined him, their eyes meeting. Cyprian sensed hostility in the other's gaze.

He narrowed his eyes, "Do we know each other?"

Ventus turned away, "No, we don't."

Really? Was it his imagination? He thought he saw a gleam of murderous intent in the man's eyes.

Keaton and Lance donned sterile gowns and entered the operating room, while Matilda and Logan waited outside. As Matilda grew anxious, Logan suddenly grabbed Yvan's hand.

Yvan froze, and the young boy whispered, "Come here for a second."
