The moment Donna's classless comment hit the air, Matilda's hand flew across Donna's face with a slap louder and harder than if she had been cut with a nail file.
Donna was stunned, tears immediately welling up as she tried to throw herself into Yvan's arms for comfort, only to find him stepping back to avoid her embrace.
"Yvan..." Donna's voice cracked, disbelief woven through her cry. She turned, her eyes blazing with fury at Matilda, "You dare hit me?!"
"Making a scene in public, aren't you ashamed?"
Matilda's response came with a casual, dismissive smile, as if Donna was beneath her notice, "Stay away from Chloe; you're not in her league."
Donna clutched her face, her eyes darting to Yvan, who seemed like a stranger, lighting up only when he looked at Matilda, calling out, "Matilda..."
Donna trembled with anger, "Yvan, could she be the villain behind Rachel's fall down the stairs?"
Matilda's expression darkened. Pulling Chloe aside, Chloe gently touched the scratch on Matilda's face, suggesting they ask Godfrey for a band-aid. But Matilda shook her head, "It's nothing, just a scratch."
"But you're up for becoming the face of our campaign!" Chloe panicked, "You can't have a scratch on your face; it's our brand, did she do this on purpose?"
Matilda caught Chloe's flailing hands, feeling if she didn't, Chloe might actually start a fight with Donna, "I need to set this straight!"
"Forget it," Matilda said coolly, "Don't stoop to her level over someone like that. It's not worth it."
Donna stood there, smug even after the slap, oblivious to her own clownish behavior, "Remember this face, because you'll be sorry. You think you can cross me? My dad is the key decision-maker for the Star Film Festival's ambassadors. Who do you think you are?"
