“That’s right, I attained a spirit pagoda, and you can store life in it and grow medical ingredients.” Sima You Yue nodded, saying.
“How did you manage to attain such a treasure?” Elder Nalan could not contain her excitement – the wrinkles on her face deepening due to her smile.
“That’s none of your business.” Sima You Yue laughed coldly, looking at Elder Nalan. Was this old fella trying to devise a plan right now? Maybe she didn’t know that as they kept her inside, there was no intention to bring her out again.
“Alright, alright. I won’t ask.” Elder Nalan laughed, saying. As long as she could get this pavilion into her own hands, why did it matter who it had belonged to? But maybe because she did not usually smile, as everyone else saw her smile, they could tell that it was riddled with hidden intentions.
“Elder Nalan, you can’t be trying to find a way to take this treasure for yourself, could you?” Fatty Qu said, looking at her wrinkly face, his heart filled with disdain.
“No, no, why would you say that. How could I dare to have intentions on such a great treasure?” Elder Nalan denied quickly. Since they even had Sacred Beasts, even if she had any plans she wouldn’t be able to make them come to fruition.
“Actually, it’s alright for you to have such intentions.” Sima You Yue said, laughing. Elder Nalan’s heart leaped, a different kind of feeling creeping into her heart. What Sima You Yue said at the end proved her gut feelings right. “It doesn’t matter if you have intentions. Now that I’ve let you in, I don’t intend to ever let you out, so you can only think about it up till the end of today.” Sima You Yue looked at her, her eyes murderous.
Elder Nalan glared at Sima You Yue, saying, “You plan to kill me? Don’t forget, I’m an elder of the Nalan family. You’re just a small fry! If you dare to take any action against me, don’t think that the Nalan family will just sit idly by! We’ll see how the entire continent deals with you then!”
“You talk as if you’re that important.” Fatty Qu scoffed.
“If I said that if you get eaten by that Soul-Gnawing Beast while we’re looking for it, or that you had gotten eaten by the ocean beasts at any point in time,” Sima You Yue said, “Do you think the Nalan family would doubt my account?”
Elder Nalan stumbled backwards, processing what Sima You Yue had just said. “Although I wanted to be the Alliance Head, when the others voted for you, I said nothing! Why do you want to kill me? Is it because you don’t want anyone else to know about this treasure that you have?”
“Yes, and no.” Sima You Yue explained patiently. “It’s commonly said, not to boast of your treasures. Now that you know about this, I can’t let you go out to talk about it, can I?”
“But he came in too!” Elder Nalan pointed at Yun Yi.
“Yun Yi is one of my people. I trust him, so he can enter this place.” Sima You Yue said. “But you’re different – you’re my enemy. How can I let you get out alive?”
“Sima You Yue! I didn’t know that you were this heartless!” Elder Nalan cried out angrily.
“Heartless?” Sima You Yue was not angry, but was rather amused. “Isn’t it right to treat your enemies harshly, in case they turn around to take a big bite out of you? Besides, before your family had decided to try to kill me, you should have thought that this might happen.”
