Thalia POV
Isaiah came back yesterday. He looked dejected. I can’t imagine what it feels like, knowing you have a mate, but you don’t know where to find her and she doesn’t know you are her mate. He has been moping around but said he would be going back that way again soon. He couldn’t continue skirting his duties at beta though. Next month he said he was going to go back to the human city and keep searching for both Kaia and Sinclair and figure out which one is his mate.
I don’t know what he plans to do from there. I honestly don’t think he has thought it through that far. Sinclair and Kaia may not be ready to return. It’s already been more than a couple of months.
I haven’t heard from them either. They both have Aiden’s number and mine. If they were in trouble or on their way back, I would think that they would have contacted us by now. They have been radio silent though.
I walked into Aiden’s office. Hobbling is probably more accurate, and I see him arguing on the phone.
“Well, when will he be available for a meeting?” He asked. His voice is clearly irritated. “He won’t be back for six months?!”
Whoever is on the phone is not giving Aiden the news he wants to hear. From the sounds of things, he doesn’t sound happy at all.
“Fine. Can you put me on his calendar for six months from now?” He said, annoyed and deflated with disappointment. “Yes, that works. I will be there.” He said and hung up.
“ARGH!” He screamed out and ran his hands through his hair. Clearly, he is frustrated.
“Bad day?” I said, hobbling over to him.
He looked up and his eyes softened immediately as he saw me rubbing my stomach. “It’s been better. I’m trying to work on getting a meeting with Alpha Paul from Ironclaw. His fucking beta is a bitch ass prick, always giving me the run around. Now that pompous asshole of an alpha is out of town for the next six months.” He said exasperated. “What alpha leaves their pack for six months?!”
“One with business to attend to outside of the pack?” I said, trying to understand myself.
“Outside business or not, a good alpha knows that he should come back every month to handle pack business before heading out again. He is going to be gone for half a year before I can speak to him about a possible merger.” He said. “If he is being this difficult now, I can only imagine how difficult it will be later.”
“Well, we both know the Moon Goddess is going to sort it all out babe.” I said as I leaned my body against his desk to relieve my back.
He starts rubbing my belly and kissing each side. “How is the beautiful and sexy mother of my pups feeling?” He asked.
“Ready to not be pregnant anymore.” I said, chuckling.
Aiden smiled, “I like seeing you pregnant. I like knowing that you are carrying my pups. I love knowing even more that I’m the one who put them in there.”
He gives me a sly look and I laugh. “You’re impossible.”
“Impossibly in love with you and our family.” He said, getting up and kissing me deeply. “I really want to be inside of you.” He said, peppering my chin and neck with kisses. It’s making desire flare inside of me.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him deeply before running my fingers through his hair. He lifts me onto his desk and removes my shirt and hacks up my skirt. “Goddess, you look so fucking sexy.” He said as he continued kissing his way down my neck.
