His Plump Mate (by Buchanan) novel Chapter 389

Julian POV

I’ve been making my moves with Rodrigo. I’m acting like the caring cousin by offering help to acquire the Reyes ports. Honestly, I just want to push him out and I could have done it easily when he got back, but it would have been months wrapped in legalities if I did a hostile takeover. This way is cleaner. I loaned him the money for the Reyes empire and then set unreachable terms. After which, I will give him three months to catch up with interest and when he ultimately fails, I get the Reyes and Moreno ports.

Having the ports will be important for the plan I am creating to work. It also brings the timeline to six months, versus two years. The moment I get my hands on those ports; I bring in the arms I am going to need to take down the wolves quickly and efficiently. I would do it with my business, by before my father died, he stipulated that the board would conduct randomized inspections and the board is too honest for their own damn good. I hate how honest they are in business. Sure, business is good, but once I finish with the wolves, I’m coming after the humans next.

I’m now at Rodrigo’s door and I am ready to make my mood. I ring the knock on the door, and one of the guards lets me in. Once I get to Rodrigo’s office, I see another man walk out with a suitcase. He looks like an attorney type and my curiosity is piqued.

“Cousin, who was that who just left?” I asked.

“No one important.” He said with a smile.

I raised an eyebrow at him. Okay, let’s see what my dear cousin is up to. I take a seat in front of his desk. “So have you thought about my proposal?” I asked him.

“I have. I gave it a lot of thought, cousin. However, I must decline.” I said.

My eyes narrow, “Decline?”

“Yes. I appreciate your offer. However, I found another offer with a twelve-year loan and five percent interest. Plus, random inspections to make sure the business continues to work in accordance with the law. If the loans default, then I only lose the Reyes ports. Not both the Reyes and Moreno’s ports. I signed the deal this morning and already made the purchase of the Reyes ports.” He said, sitting back. I see a small hint of smugness in his eyes as well.

“Who gave you these kinds of terms?” I asked him.

“That’s not important. The important part is I now own all the ports in the region, so my father’s company isn’t going under. It’s expanding.” He said.

I clench my jaw and then start the contingency I had as a backup. “Well, that is great news then cousin. With this kind of an empire, you are ready to start a family, don’t you think? I could introduce you to some single females I know.” I said.
