Thalia POV

I’m listening to Aiden talk to Reid on the phone and I’m excited that he and Adrian will be here with their mates. I also heard Reid say to Aiden that Golden Frost is a pack known for its inventions. I am very curious to know what inventions they are keeping for themselves and whether or not any of them could help us in the pending war. I also need to remember to ask Aiden about the blast I saw from Heath.

As I’m listening, I’m distracted by my daughters. They are so adorable. I can’t believe they are ours. I can’t believe these were the two dancing the salsa on my bladder. Teagan, I think looks more like me and Rosario looks more like Aiden.

My mind starts thinking back to my abuelo and what he said about all our pups being hybrids. Then looking at my daughter’s and making the statement of wondering how they will be different. It’s piquing my curiosity as well.

As I’m smiling as my daughter’s and memorizing their faces, Teagan starts shaking and starts burning up. This is followed by Rosario looking like her body is stiffening. I begin to panic. I don’t know how to take care of a pup, much less a hybrid pup.

“Aiden…” I said and I heard how panicked my voice sounds. I don’t understand what’s happening, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t normal.

Aiden turns around and his eyes are widened when he sees our daughter’s state. “What the fuck?” He says, “Call you back.” He hung up the phone and grabbed Teagan while I held Rosario.

“What is happening to our pups, Aiden?” I said and I’m nervous but too weak to stand.

Aiden opens the doors and calls abuelo, tio, Austin and Rebel. They come rushing in and tio is taking temperatures and Damaro is telling me and Aiden to put them both in the bassinets.

“They are shaking, abuelo!” I said, and I feel tears coming down. I feel terrified. I don’t know what is happening.

“I know, nieta. I have a feeling they are trying to shift.” Abuelo said.

“SHIFT?! They were just born!” Austin said and it’s clear he is worried too.

‘Nyx? Help me out. Do you know anything?’

‘Not a thing. Though, Shadow Maws shift earlier that regular wolves and Aiden is an Alpha. Maybe that could be why this is happening?’ Nyx said and I heard the worry in her voice.

“Nyx thinks this may be because Aiden is an Alpha and Shadow Maws shift earlier.” I said with my voice shaking.

Abuelo and Tio both looked at each other, “It’s plausible.” Tio said as he continues examining the girls. “The mix of DNA between the both of you could be why this is happening.”

“Make it stop.” I cried. Both my daughters are now crying in pain.

“I can’t sobrina.” Tio said and I looked at abuelo, but he shakes his head too. This is very uncharted territory.

Suddenly, Teagan’s bones start cracking. “Shit, she’s shifting!” Aiden said and his hand is going through his hair. He looks like he is aging in front of me.

“Aiden, let it happen.” Abuelo said.

“Bring her to me!” I said, crying.

“No! She needs to finish shifting. You could hurt her mid-shift.” Abuelo said.

After a minute or so, Teagan finishes her shift. She is an adorable little black wolf with silver streaks. I think she is a wolf at least. She looks like a six-month-old pup now, so she could be a shadow maw.

No sooner than Teagan finishes shifting, Rosario shifts. We are all amazed. She is a silver wolf with black streaks. Like Teagan, her wolf is bigger than her newborn body.

Rebel is smiling ear to ear. “My granddaughters are the cutest little wolves ever!” She said, smiling. “Look at their claws. It reminds me of Rory when she was born.” She said curiously.

Austin is looking at their claws and agreed. “Yeah, but Rory stayed in her body.”

Then Rosario cuddled up to Teagan, “Who is Rory?” She said and everyone in the room went quiet.
