Sinclair POV
I meant to go back to Blackstone this weekend, but I’m being delayed a week. Kaia called me and said she needed my help with setting up some kind of surveillance.
“Why haven’t you called me sooner?” I asked her.
“I was trying to get it mapped out, but I was having a hard time figure out a relay that I wanted to set up. I give up though and decided to call you.” She said.
She goes on to tell me about her idea and as she is speaking, her elaborate plan unfolds. “…so, you see, I need to make sure I figure out the whole relay thing. Then I will set everything in motion.”
“Are you sure you want to do this? I mean he is your husband.” I asked. I mean, it would be nice if Isaiah were my mate. I would hope the bond would be there and he would want me. Then I maybe wouldn’t wander to the world alone anymore.
“Yes, I’m sure. That boat sank a long time ago.” She said and her tone sounds wistful. Clearly, my friend isn’t happy with her marriage.
“Fine. I will be there in an hour.” I said.
I hung up with her and then called Thalia to let her know. When she answers, I find out that she has given birth to her pups. Saying pups instead of babies is still weird for me, but I will have to get used to it.
“Thalia that is so great! You better send me pictures! I know Kaia will want to see them too.” I said, happy for her.
“I will. Are you still coming back this weekend?”
“That’s what I was calling to talk to you about. I was planning on it, but then Kaia called me and said she needed my help. I am going to be delayed for a few more days. I hope I will be back by next weekend. I definitely want to see your pups!” I said excitedly. “What are their names?”
“Rosario and Teagan.” She said. “They are extremely special, but I’d rather talk about that in person. I have to tell you, next weekend, Aiden and I are going to Obscure Shaw with the girls. We are going to begin training and document everything about our pups. If there is any way you can get here before next weekend, I would really appreciate it.” She finished.
“You just gave birth and you are leaving?” I asked incredulously.
“Wolf pregnancies are different from human ones, Sinclair.” Thalia said with a chuckle. “Women heal faster because of our wolves. Our bodies still need to adjust, but we are healed completely after about a week.” She said.
“Really? No wonder there are so many pups running around! All the women heal up, and the men are quick to knock them up again.” I said laughing.
