Chapter 432
Isaiah POV
She did all of this to make them pay. Well, she is a clever one. No one is going to see it coming. Part of me is proud as fuck of my mate for coming up with this plan.
Then she said something I wasn’t expecting. “I need to stay a virgin until I get this divorced finalized. If I’m marked, it would look like a hickey and he could claim I was cheating and it could delay everything. Please don’t think it’s you. It isn’t.”
“So, it wasn’t me? You’re just seeing your plan through?” I asked.
“Definitely not you.” She said blushing. “I actually thought you would be mated to Sinclair, not me.”
“Why?” I asked. I have a feeling I know why, but I want to hear her say it.
She looked away and I saw the sadness in her eyes. I gently grabbed her chin, “Don’t hide. Please. Tell
me.”
“I’ve been married for three years. He never wanted me. He said no one would. You always got annoyed with me and I just thought…” She said not finishing her thoughts, so I do it for her.
“You thought your asshole husband was right? You thought me being annoyed was because I didn’t like you?”
She looked down and in a barely audible voice, “Yeah. No one except Sinclair ever wanted me around.”
My mate, born into privilege on the outside and completely abandoned behind closed doors. She was pushed aside and in her own way, was keeping walls up.
“Here I was thinking that you didn’t like me.” I confessed. “I thought you kept pushing me away because you didn’t want to be mated to me.”
She looked up and her eyes widened. “No. That’s not it. I promise. I was pulling back because I can’t be intimate with you right now. Not until I’m done with the divorce.”
I quickly lay her on the bed and grinned at her. “So, you think I can’t be intimate with you and not keep your virtue intact?”
She blushed a deep shade of red. You would think she spilled red wine on her cheeks. “Um, no. 1 honestly flirt a lot because I don’t think anyone really finds me appealing anyway. I, uh, I don’t know anything about intimacy, really.”
She looks really nervous. I can’t help but chuckle. “Don’t worry, trouble. I won’t push you. But I will take my time exploring your body… tonight. You will understand just how appealing you are.”
“Ex…ex…exploring?” she stumbled. Damn it, I feel good knowing she wasn’t pulling away because of me and I’m making her nervous. She is affected by me.

What I don’t like however is that everything is surface level confidence. It’s fair to say that she is putting up a front. I want her to really be confident, not fake her confidence. It’s going to take time to undo all the bullshit she has lived, and I definitely want to kill her husband. That asshole has a death wish, and I will deliver it to him after this is all said and done.
“Yeah. You’re mine, Kaia. I don’t care about your father or your husband. I want you to divorce his ass. I’ll stand by you and watch. But let me be clear, I want you. I want every goofy, funny, sassy, smartass, troublemaking, sweet, blushing side of you. So, once you are done with your plan, that I now understand, I intend to mark you and make you mine. You’re stuck with me.” I said.
She smirked, “Even my devilish side?”
“Every side, every curve, every peak and every valley of your mind, body, spirit….all of it. Do you understand me?” I said.
Her eyes went slightly wide, like she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. I wait though. I need her to acknowledge that she understands. I need her to hear herself say it; because once she does, I’m going to spend a lot of time making sure she knows I mean it.
“I understand.”
“Good.” I said and I lowered my head and kissed her like a woman ought to be kissed. I push all my passion and desire to her, and I let my hand roam all over her body. I hear a small moan escape her mouth as she reaches up my arms and to my chest before gripping my shirt. I growl low in my chest feeling her touch me.
When I reluctantly pull away, I look at her, “We should go downstairs. Sinclair probably has dinner. We shouldn’t keep her either.” I said, and then I looked at her swollen lips, “Besides, I want to come back up here after dinner for dessert.”
She looked dazed and embarrassed and her cheeks flushed again. “Dessert?”
“Yeah.” I said, as I got up from the bed and helped her up. “I have a feeling it will be my favorite one from here on out.” I smirked.
When we get downstairs, Sinclair is in the dining room, setting up plates and cups with ice. She ordered two large bottles of soda and three pizzas. Then I see a smaller box with some cookies in them.
She hands me back my card and smiles, “Thanks for dinner.” Then she looks at Kaia, “My Kaia…what swollen lips you have. Did you play little red riding hood or something with Isaiah?”
I looked at her curiously. “Little red riding hood?”
“You’ve never heard of that story?” Sinclair asked.
“Can’t say that I have.”
“There’s a big, bad wolf and he tries to eat little red riding hood.” She winked.
I looked at her strangely, “That’s a real story?”

“Children’s story.” Kaia said and then she smirked at Sinclair, “Maybe I wanted my big, bad wolf to be a big, bad wolf, Sinclair.” She winked.
Sinclair laughed and I smirked. I grabbed Kaia from behind, “You know, I wasn’t kidding when I said all this is going to land you in trouble when we get back to the pack, Kaia.”
I felt her shiver and I smiled. I think she is still reeling from our conversation and our passionate kiss just now. I will make sure she knows tonight how much I want her.
