Kaia POV
The bailiff calls for everyone to rise as Judge Michael comes, walks in and takes his seat. He calls out the case.
“Your Honor. This is the divorce case for Black vs. Black.” He said and handed the folder to the judge.
“Be seated.” Judge Michael said. “Mrs. Black, you are seeking a divorce from your husband, Mr. Black. You allege that he cheated on you several times and abused you, resulting in a hospital visit. Is that correct?”
“Yes, your honor.”
“You also state in your claim that he violated the prenuptial agreement with his infidelity and abuse.”
“Yes, your honor.”
He nods and looks at my husband, “Mr. Black, are these accusations true?”
“Your honor,” His attorney stands to speak.
“The court is addressing Mr. Black directly, Mr. Hollman. Please wait to be addressed.” Judge Michael said.
“My apologies, your honor.”
Judge Michael looks at my husband and waits for his response. Finally, he starts speaking. “Your honor, yes, I made mistakes and I own them. I do not wish to divorce my wife though.”
“Why is that Mr. Black?”
“I love her.” He said and if I wasn’t already aware of his character, I would believe him. He sounds so convincing. Well, he is going to be in for a rude awakening.
Judge Michael tilts his head down to look above his glasses straight to my husband and says, “I see.”
Even I hear how skeptical he is right now. He turns to Mr. Fellman.
“Mr. Fellman, do you have any proof of the allegations? Even though Mr. Black has said he made past mistakes and owns them, I would like to understand how deep these allegations go.”
Mr. Fellman stood up, “Yes, your honor. We have video evidence of Mr. Black engaging in extra marital affairs with different women in one day. That same day, he also abused his wife when she caught him. He beat her badly and she required medical attention.” He said and was handing the medical records to the bailiff.
I see the judge’s eyes darken as he goes through the records. Then he looked at me, “Mrs. Black, please tell me what led to this event.”
I stood up, “Your honor. I came home early from my work trip. I saw my husband’s car and another car I didn’t recognize in my driveway. When I entered my home, I could hear my husband and the woman he was with having intercourse. I pulled out my phone and hit record and went to confront them. I chased the woman out of my house and before I could say anything else to my husband, he slammed me against the wall.”
“What happened then?” he asked.
“Well, he grabbed my phone and threw it on the floor. He said I didn’t have proof anymore and called me a bitch. I told him that I have never cheated on him and have always tried to be close to him and get to know him, but he always pushed me away and yelled at me.” I said and my voice cracked. I feel myself getting emotional. I may not want to be married to him anymore, but it doesn’t me that this didn’t hurt.
“I’m sure this is hard for you, Mrs. Black, are you able to continue?”
I nodded, “He told me that no one would want anyone as pathetic as me, then said he had slept with hundreds of women, but he doesn’t want to touch me. In my anger, I screamed out that I didn’t want his infested…um…member touching me and that all those women probably faked their orgasms. That’s when he struck me in the face.”
The judge smirked at me, “I understand. Is there any proof of this exchange?”
Mr. Fellman then stood up, “Yes, your honor.” He said, holding up the USB drive.
