I said nothing.
I used to think Queena just loved Steven as a person, but now it seemed like she was more interested in his status.
Seeing my silence, Queena’s mood brightened considerably. She began to prattle on about the garden, flaunting her superiority. I found it laughable.
Rachel couldn’t stand it anymore and pointed an angry finger at the screen. “Queena, what are you so proud of? You’re not even the other woman here! Did Steven marry you willingly? No, you blackmailed him using Zephyra, didn’t you?”
Queena’s face turned ashen. She crushed the flower she was holding in her hand.
I had a feeling Queena was about to explode, so I tugged on Rachel’s arm. It was better not to provoke her right now, or we might not even get cookies anymore.
But Rachel was on a roll and paid me no mind.
“Don’t you own a mirror? You should take a good look at yourself. It’s bad enough that you’re ugly, but your heart is black, too. Forcing someone with such despicable tactics and then flaunting it in her face… how can you be so shameless?”
As Queena’s expression grew uglier, I quickly tried to pull Rachel back. “Rachel, that’s enough.”
Rachel shot back, “Since you’re so proud, where’s Steven? Why don’t you let him show his face? Is it because he won’t stand with you? Or are you afraid he’ll see Zephyra?”
Rachel’s tone was dripping with sarcasm, and Queena’s gaze turned cold and fixed on me.
Her eyes were bloodshot with rage. “You’re lying! I’m going to throw you in the ocean to feed the fish!”
