The group chat was full of praise, and Benjamin put his phone away after scrolling for a few seconds.

He had to put it away. He knew Nina loved phones.

Whenever they used a phone in front of her, she always squeezed her chubby face against the screen, mumbling in her soft baby voice, “I see! I see!”

She couldn’t read a single word, and she didn’t know the apps either.

But she loved poking her fat little finger all over the screen.

Once she accidentally opened a short-video app, she even learned how to swipe up and down to pick the videos she liked.

Amelia had been stressed out about this for ages.

She truly wanted Nina to quit screens completely.

Benjamin’s reading lesson during the ride wasn’t going well.

He taught her the entire way, and Nina only recognized the number one.

When the car stopped at the entrance of Morris Villa, the driver didn’t even dare breathe loudly.

He had listened to Benjamin teaching earlier. Although Benjamin’s voice had stayed calm the whole time and his face hadn’t shown much change, the driver had driven for him for years-he could feel that heavy pressure in the air.

He didn’t dare make a sound, but Nina, the one who had nearly drained her father’s soul dry, was bursting with energy.

“Daddy, here!”

Nina knew the car had stopped, which meant they had arrived.

She happily wrapped her arms around Benjamin’s neck. “Daddy, hug! Hug me!”

She wanted him to carry her out.

Benjamin still hadn’t recovered emotionally, so he just sat there, not picking her up yet.

Through the car window, Nina spotted Lucien.

He was stomping along a short distance away, clearly furious, about to walk out of sight.

Nina called out several times, but Lucien didn’t hear her and kept walking.

“Daddy! Daddy!”

Anxious, Nina looped her arms around his neck. To get him to move, she used the trick she usually reserved for charming her mom-she rubbed her soft, squishy face against Benjamin’s cheek.

She rubbed him several times, then planted a few loud kisses. “Daddy! Wuv you! Nina wuv you!”

Rubbing, kissing, and confessing-Nina had mastered the whole routine.

Even Amelia couldn’t always resist this tiny love-bombing.

Benjamin, encountering this ambush for the first time, was even less immune.

The storm cloud in his chest finally cleared a little as he watched his overly enthusiastic daughter.

Forget it. She’s still young. I’ll teach her slowly.

He refused to believe his daughter was destined to be bad at studying.

Once he’d steadied his mood, he lifted the impatient Nina out of the car.

The moment her feet touched the ground, Nina wriggled out of his arms.

She wanted to chase Lucien.

Lucien stomped ahead, angrier than ever.

“Who did this?! Who keeps taking my car wheel off?!”

This was the fifth time someone had secretly removed a wheel from his toy Mercedes.

Whoever was doing it was absolutely shameless!

over.

It took several calls before Lucien finally heard her.

“Oh! Nina, you’re here!

“I knew you’d come! I was just about to drive out and pick you up!

“I’m furious! Someone took my wheel off again.

“We can’t ride my car anymore.”

Although he was angry, he never let it out on Nina.

He walked over, took her chubby hand, and led her along.

Benjamin watched from behind. Nina, who had just told her dad she loved him, hadn’t looked back even once since getting out of the car.

Holding Lucien’s hand, Nina noticed the spare wheel in his other hand. “Car broke?” she asked.

Lucien nodded fiercely, his little face full of wrath. “If I catch who did this, I’ll beat him up!”

“No beat Nina!”
