Chapter 116 The Night Shift

Benjamin used a warm towel to wipe Nina’s little face, then gently adjusted her position on the bed.

Daniel had finally gotten Alice’s phone number, but the moment he called, Alice heard his voice and immediately hung up.

Daniel almost wanted to die after reading it.

He wanted to explain, but a blocked number meant Alice would not see any call or message from him.

Out of options, he came to Lucas.

When Lucas heard the request, his eyes lit up with righteous fury.

“Daniel, looks like that two-hour legal education video wasn’t enough to stop you from breaking the law.

“I’m reporting you to Benjamin.

“If the law can’t scare you, Benjamin definitely can!”

Daniel’s face instantly darkened. He punched Lucas lightly on the chest.

“Can you shut up already?!” Daniel shot back.

“Assaulting an officer! That’s assault!” Lucas exclaimed diamatically. “I’m seriously going to arrest you!”

“Oh, arrest me? Then I’ll just get rid of the witness.” Daniel lunged at him.

They wrestled around until Lucien heard the noise. He rolled over on his scooter, and the two instantly sprang apart, pretending nothing had happened.

“Lucien? What are you doing here?” Lucas asked.

Lucien had one foot on the scooter and the other planted on the floor. He tilted his head up, ignoring Lucas, and immediately asked Daniel, “Where’s Nina? Is she sleeping? Why didn’t she come?”

It was already late. Lucien was wearing pajamas and had clearly just taken a bath.

Daniel had shown up planning to spend the night at Lucas’s place.

“This little brat never listens.” Daniel watched him roll off and muttered, “He’s not even as obedient as our Nina. I bet Nina is definitely asleep right now.”

Except Nina, in the hospital room, was asleep but restless.

Maybe it was because she knew she was in a hospital. Even in her dreams, she imagined getting shots, and she let out a few cries.

At the very first whimper, Benjamin walked over.

Benjamin rarely talked and hardly displayed emotion, but Amelia had noticed something about him— something she liked very much.
