Chapter 486 So Much Time Ahead
Seeing this, Sally let Nina lead the little ones in crafts and activities instead.
Time passed slowly, and Nina didn’t cry or fuss at Sunbeam Daycare. She had a great time playing.
But when noon naptime arrived, she refused to sleep.
Nina said, “Want Mommy.”
Lucy carried Nina to her small bed. Nina sat on her yellow blanket with little white bears and begged to go to sleep with Amelia.
Naturally, they wouldn’t let her leave.
Lucy sat gently beside Nina’s bed and coaxed her patiently, “Nina, once you wake up, your mommy will come get you.
“Look, all the other kids are sleeping nicely.
“Can you be good, too?”
Nina rubbed her eyes and shook her head firmly.
She babbled, “No. Nina want Mommy.”
Nina kept crying for Amelia. Neither Lucy nor Sally would take her to Amelia.
She didn’t get Amelia and still refused to nap.
After crying for a while, Lucy carried her to the playroom to play with toys.
Parents could watch everything at the daycare through the security cameras.
William and Daniel, who hadn’t come to drop Nina off, felt terrible for her.
But even so, they didn’t go to pick her up early.
The day finally dragged on until dismissal. Nina held Lucy’s hand and walked to the gate. One second, she’d been chatting nicely with Lucy; the next, when she saw Daniel rushing ahead to pick her up, her lips trembled, and she burst into tears.
Nina sobbed, “Un-coo Dan’el.”
Daniel answered softly, “Wow, there’s my Nina.”
He lifted Nina into his arms, wiped her little face, and kissed her over and over.
Daniel said, “Don’t cry. I’m here to take you home. Let’s go right now.”
He carried Nina away, and she lay on his shoulder with teary eyes.

When Lucy waved goodbye, Nina sniffled and waved her tiny hand back. “Bye. Nina no back.”
Nina only cried during drop-off, pick-up, and naptime. She had plenty of fun the rest of the day.
So Amelia had no intention of keeping her home from daycare.
On the way home, Daniel ignored Amelia’s protests and bought Nina two more toys.
Nina held her toys tight, looking like Daniel was her favorite person ever.

Watching Nina being spoiled by Daniel and William, Amelia teased Benjamin, “Nina wasn’t this spoiled before we moved back to the Graham Residence.”
She never used to cry this much, either.
Ever since returning to the Graham Residence, so many people had doted on her. Nina had grown more stubborn and more delicate.
Benjamin listened carefully as Amelia talked about Nina’s old days.
He felt deep regret.
Benjamin whispered, holding Amelia’s hand, “I wish I’d shown up sooner.”
If I’d been there earlier, I could’ve stayed with Amelia through her pregnancy and birth. I could’ve watched Nina grow from a tiny baby until now.
Amelia saw the sadness in Benjamin’s eyes.
She smiled, “It’s okay. We have so much time ahead of us to be with her.”
The two talked for a long while before Nina finally turned to Amelia.
She still said she didn’t want to go to daycare,
Amelia told her firmly that there was no way around it,
When Nina saw how strict Amelia was, she pouted and got mad.
She turned right to William and complained, “Grandpa, Mommy mean.”
William hesitated, then stammered, “Uh… What should we do?”
Nina frowned at Amelia, her little round face tight with anger. She shot Amelia a fierce little threat. “Nina big, Nina mean.”
Amelia looked surprised and said, “What did you say? Say that again.”
Nina went quiet for a few seconds.
A moment later, she looked away from Amelia. She wrapped her arms around Daniel’s neck and said seriously, “Un-coo Dan’el, Nina tiny.”
