Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 485

Chapter 485 Nina’s Attention Shifted

Only Benjamin and Amelia brought Nina to daycare that day.

Amelia didn’t ask William or Daniel to come with them.

She was afraid Nina would throw a fit when entering Sunbeam Daycare.

If William and Daniel had been there, Nina would have begged for them nonstop.

Amelia said, “He’s busy-he has to work.”

Nina babbled, “Take Nina? Nina good.”

Amelia said firmly, “No way. You have to go to daycare. You’ll see Uncle Daniel after school. He’ll come pick you up.”

Amelia didn’t soften toward Nina’s pleas.

As she spoke, she fixed Nina’s hair and clipped a pretty flower hairpin back in place.

Amelia loved dressing up Nina.

She spent time every morning making Nina look neat and lovely. But it never lasted half a day before Nina got all messy.

Nina was not shy or quiet in the slightest.

She ran around nonstop. By the end, her braids would come loose, and her clean clothes would get dirty.

There was really nothing Amelia could do about that.

Soon, the car pulled up to Sunbeam Daycare.

When Nina saw the front gate, she refused to go forward.

There were kids to play with inside, but Nina knew she would be stuck there all day long.

She didn’t want to go in.

Nina tugged Amelia’s hand and said, “Mommy, home?”

Amelia wasn’t about to take her back home.

Amelia held Nina and said gently, “Be good for Mommy and Daddy, Nina. Good little girls go to daycare.”

Nina wasn’t fooled at all.

She said seriously, “Nina no good.”

Amelia replied, “Even if you’re bad, you’re still going.”

Nina fell silent, her lips trembling as she prepared to cry.

Just then, Sally walked up behind her. She held Nina steady and pulled her quickly into her arms.

Nina suddenly found herself in Sally’s embrace.

Once Sally had Nina, she urged Amelia to leave at once.

She carried Nina inside without looking back.

Nina froze for a few seconds, then burst into tears and screamed for Amelia.

Her cries sounded pitiful, but neither Amelia nor Benjamin gave in.

They did as the teachers always suggested-they stepped quickly out of Nina’s sight.

The teachers had warned them many times. If parents stayed nearby, kids cried even louder.

They thought throwing a fit would make the adults take them home.

Only when the grown-ups left did the kids give up and calm down.

Finished

As Nina’s cries grew distant, Amelia sat in the car and asked Benjamin, “Do you think Nina will be okay at daycare today?”

It had been ages since Nina last attended. Amelia couldn’t help worrying.

Benjamin squeezed her hand softly and said, “Don’t worry about it. She’ll get used to it again in a couple of days.”

Amelia nodded. With Nina at daycare, the two of them had their own work to do.

Benjamin focused on his job, and Amelia had hers as well.

Amelia was lucky to work at Stella Entertainment. Hugh, the company’s owner, was Benjamin’s childhood friend.

Hugh hadn’t complained about her long absence. He’d even messaged Benjamin many times to ask how Nina was doing.

Nina had also received plenty of gifts from Hugh.

Amelia went to Stella Entertainment to check in. She and Benjamin agreed to pick Nina up together later.

Meanwhile, Nina was still crying in Sally’s arms.

Sally didn’t panic at the sound of her tears.

As an experienced teacher, she’d grown completely used to this kind of crying.

Sally asked gently, “Nina, you went on a long trip-were you tired? Was it fun outside? Tell me all the things you did.”

Sally knew exactly how to distract Nina with simple questions.

And sure enough, Nina’s attention shifted right away.

Nina held up her arm sobbing and said, “Nina hurt. Bad guy hit Nina. Nina cry.”

She rambled and complained nonstop. With her mouth busy talking, she forgot to keep crying.
