But Daniel didn’t look at her even once.

He lifted Nina off the floor, his heart aching for her.

He held Nina close and kept asking softly.

Daniel studied her little face carefully and blew softly on her cheek to ease the pain.

He said, “You fell on your cheek? I’m blowing it better. It’ll stop hurting soon. How did this happen? Tell me.”

Daniel only had eyes for Nina. He sat down beside Alice with her in his arms, then grabbed a tissue to wipe her tears.

As he wiped her face, Nina hiccuped through her sobs.

Daniel understood exactly what Nina meant.

After hearing her, he finally turned his gaze toward Noelle on the floor.

The doctors Daniel had brought were examining Alice, all gathered around her bed.

Nina walked over to the small sofa and made her calls alone.

She called a bunch of people and finally reached Nelson.
