The second Daniel left, Noelle showed up at the hospital. She carried pastries from the shop near the hospital entrance and pushed the door open.

Noelle said, “Alice, I just couldn’t stop worrying about you.

“I heard you moved to this room, so I came to check on you again.

“Look, I brought you some snacks.

“I even got cupcakes-the kid can eat these, too.”

Noelle had been shut down by both Daniel and Nina, but she refused to give up.

She planned to win Nina over first.

She is little and seems easy to fool.

She thought a few snacks would make Nina like her.

Signing with one hand was hard for Alice.

But she still took the time to praise Nina anyway.
