Chapter 49 Benjamin’s Kid
They turned to this way out of sheer desperation.
At first, they didn’t believe it would work.

After all, the real Mia had gone missing at three. It was next to impossible for an orphan of the same age to look exactly like her.
The resemblance between the two kids was only about four or five on a scale of ten.
Surprisingly, that modest likeness still managed to fool Jane.
Maybe the pain was so intense that she started to delude herself. Holding the adopted daughter in her arms, she sobbed and called out, “Mia, Mia.”
The Mia she’d given birth to with all her hopes couldn’t leave her again.
Because of Jane’s state, the Wilson family accepted the new “Mia”.
Even so, Freya, the eldest sister, and Nathan Wilson, the second-eldest brother, never stopped looking for their real sister.
Before the real Mia disappeared, she was not only the apple of Jane’s eye but also the little sweetheart that Freya and Nathan doted on.
The siblings even squabbled to win her affection.
Nathan once stuffed Mia into his schoolbag and took her to school to show off.
His little sister was so well-behaved that she wouldn’t cry when in the bag.
Mia would sit in the bag, clutching her toy.
When Nathan opened the bag, she’d flash him a sweet smile and stretch out her chubby little hands for a hug.
She was the family’s little joy.
Her disappearance was a nightmare for Freya and Nathan.
Freya held the real Mia close to her heart.
Yet, she also cared about the Mia beside her.
So, when Mia started causing a scene, Freya immediately scolded her.
“Hey, Mia, don’t be rude,” she said.
“Freya, I’m just telling it like it is! Daniel shows up out of the blue with a kid. It’s nuts! You should tell him off,” Mia insisted.
She hoped Freya would act like Benjamin’s future wife and put Daniel in his place.

Chapter 49 Benjamin’s Kid
But things didn’t go as she planned.

Holding Nina in his arms, Daniel grinned and announced clearly, “This isn’t my kid. She’s my brother Benjamin’s daughter.
“We’re gonna have a party soon, and that’s when we’ll properly introduce our baby to y’all.
“Nina, come on, give everyone a little intro today.”
Nina wasn’t shy at all in Daniel’s arms.
Blinking her big, shiny eyes, she said in a cute voice, “I’m Nina. I’m three-”
“Baby, be more precise. You’re two years and seven months,” Daniel corrected.
“Okay.” Nina wrinkled her little nose and changed her words. “I’m two years… and sev…”
The words “two years and seven months” were too much for the little one.
With Daniel’s help, she managed to finish her introduction.
After that, Mia’s face went even sourer.
How could this suddenly-appeared kid be Benjamin’s?
Benjamin is supposed to be Freya’s future husband!
“Daniel, you’re not pulling my leg, are you? This kid’s really Benjamin’s? Mia asked.
“Sure thing, no kidding,” Daniel said, pinching Nina’s chubby cheeks. “Look, doesn’t Nina look a lot like Benjamin?”
Everyone there knew about the gossip between Benjamin and Freya.
They all kept quiet.
Freya, though, took a good look at Nina’s little face.
Maybe it was just her imagination, but Freya didn’t think Nina looked much like Benjamin.
Instead, she thought Nina looked a bit like her real sister, Mia
Because of this hunch, Freya didn’t have any bad feelings towards Nina at all.
Her expression stayed calm all the time.
With poise, Freya extended her congratulations. “Congrats! I’ll surely make it to his wedding.”
It didn’t bother her that Benjamin had a daughter, but Mia was absolutely livid.
So angry was she that her fingernails were nearly piercing her palm.
