Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 81

Chapter 81 A Little White Lic

Finished

The ointment had no side effects, so Benjamin casually dabbed a tiny bit on Nina’s check just to indulge her -and she instantly turned into a total little patient.

She grabbed her kids’ smartwatch and immediately video-called Lucien and Nelson.

In the call, she tilted her head dramatically to show off the “injured” right side of her face.

“Nina, what happened to your face?” Nelson frowned on the other side.

Nina was on her second call now. Maybe the first one had dragged on, because the ointment had already been sitting there a while.

No one knew what was going through that tiny head.

She just started making stuff up. “Daddy put it. Daddy hit Nina! Hit face!”

The second those words left her mouth, Amelia, who had been feeling all kinds of complicated about Benjamin, instantly snapped to attention and stared at her little liar.

Amelia reminded her, “Nina, no making things up. You asked Daddy to put the medicine on. Daddy didn’t hit you.”

She watched her own daughter straight-up slander Benjamin and wanted the floor to swallow her.

Benjamin, on the other hand, stayed perfectly calm.

This wasn’t the first black pot Nina had dumped on him; he was used to it.

“Daddy hit.” Nina doubled down even after being corrected.

Amelia almost laughed from frustration. “Fine, Nina. Tell Mommy exactly how Daddy hit you.”

She told Nina to show her.

Nina blinked, climbed down, and toddled over.

She looked at Amelia, raised her little hand, and Amelia caught it instantly.

Amelia said, “Nina. I said show me, so you’re gonna hit me? Why don’t you hit yourself?”

Nina huffed, then answered in her baby voice, “Nina owie.”

Amelia was speechless. “And if you hit Mommy, Mommy doesn’t feel owie?”

Nina froze, face scrunching up in deep thought.

Two seconds later, she figured it out. She drooped her head, looking utterly defeated, and said sadly, “Mommy, Nina say sorry.”

Amelia said, “It’s just ‘sorry, not ‘say sorry. Whatever; now say sorry to Daddy, too.”

Chapter 81 A Little White Lie

She worked hard to clear Benjamin’s name. “Daddy didn’t hit you. You shouldn’t say that about him.”

Under Amelia’s serious lesson, Nina wilted like a sad little cabbage.

She shuffled over, hugged Benjamin’s leg, and mumbled, “Daddy, Nina sorry”

Benjamin said, “Well. It’s okay.”

He rubbed her head and let her get back to her call.

Nelson, who still hadn’t hung up, had watched the whole chaos silently as Nina’s lie was exposed and she got scolded.

When she returned to the call, he finally softened his voice and coaxed her gently, “Nina, I’m heading out now, but I’ll be back soon. I’ll bring you a present when I come,”

Nina’s eyes brightened. “Yeah! I want vroom-vroom car!”

Most little girls liked cute dolls or plushies.

But Nina was different. She was a universal lover of toys-anything at a toy stall had to come home with her.

And among all those, she was especially obsessed with anything that could be taken apart, like toy cars and model vehicles.

Amelia didn’t dare take her to the supermarket too often anymore.

The bottom shelves were always full of toys, and Nina demanded to buy them all.

Amelia started avoiding supermarkets altogether, but Nina recognized the logo and would march in by herself!

Now that they were living at the Graham Residence, Amelia hadn’t bought toys in

ages.

William, Daniel, Lucas… all of them practically tried to collect every toy on the planet to give to Nina.

She now had endless toys to take apart.

But even with a mountain of toys, she still wanted more.

Amelia had no idea what kind of hoarding instinct this was.

Time passed quietly in the office.

Benjamin glanced at the clock; it was lunchtime.
