As soon as Seraphina left, Chloe was infuriated, her chest heaving with rage.

“What does she mean by that? Is she saying I’m mistreating her?”

“Mom, don’t blame her. She’s just angry. She’ll be fine once she calms down.”

Chloe felt comforted by her gentle and kind daughter. She noticed her daughter’s attempt to hide her disappointment and felt a pang of heartache.

“Don’t worry, I will give you-money. You can buy whatever you like.”

Meanwhile, Seraphina left the villa and asked the driver to take her to the city center.

Standing among the towering skyscrapers, she looked up at the blue sky and down at the giant buildings.

The people within them seemed insignificant and utterly trivial, like ants on the ground.

How long has it been since I last saw the sunlight outside? One year, two years, or even longer?

The Whitewood Family had tied her up and sent her to that abusive old pervert in exchange for enough benefits to expand the Whitewood Group.

They used the money they got from her to buy properties for Linara and to host a grand wedding. The whole family lived a life of luxury and indulgence.

Meanwhile, she lived in hell, in darkness without end.

She squinted slightly standing in the sunlight, feeling the warm, burning sensation of the sun on her skin. This feeling was wonderful.

Bump.

A young boy bumped into her, and his ice cream smeared all over her clothes.

The child fell to the ground, crying loudly.

The boy’s mother rushed over, picked him up, and glared angrily at Seraphina after seeing the scrape on his arm.

“What’s wrong with you? Are you blind? Can’t you watch where you’re going? You hurt my son!”

Seraphina looked down at the ice cream on her shirt, then at the boy and his unreasonable mother, and smiled a little wickedly.

She bent down, picked up the half-eaten ice cream from the ground, and walked over to the boy’s mother.

“What are you doing?” The boy’s mother stared at her fiercely, trying to intimidate her with her

gaze.

Seraphina didn’t respond. She simply smeared the remaining ice cream on the woman’s white dress.

The boy’s mother screamed in terror.

Her sharp sound attracted the attention of passersby. They looked over and guessed what had happened, seeing the ice cream on both of them and the crying child.

“What’s wrong with you? You not only pushed my son and hurt him but also dirtied dress. This dress is expensive!” The boy’s mother yelled hysterically.

Seraphina pointed to a surveillance camera a few meters away. “There’s evidence over there. Are you sure you’re in the right?”

The boy’s mother’s eyes flickered, and she fell silent.

The bystanders roughly understood that this was a case of the guilty party accusing first.

“I feel really sorry for your child.”

Leaving those words, Seraphina turned and walked away.
