“Good morning, Mr. Lopez.”

Lionel responded with a brief nod.

“Hello, Mr. Lopez.”

As Lionel approached the office door, Joe stood to usher him in. “Mr. Foster, Mr. Lopez is here.”

Andrew shifted his attention from the computer screen to the visitor. “Have a seat.”

As Lionel sat down across from him, a file was handed over.

“Take a look at this case.”

Lionel flipped open the file and read it thoroughly. After a moment of reflection, he shut it and remarked, “This is a challenging case, but it’s solvable. We can push for them to lose

everything.”

“I’ll leave it to you.”

As Lionel nodded in assent, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He raised an eyebrow after glancing at the caller ID.

“What’s up?”

Thomas asked eagerly, “Has she contacted you?”

Lionel replied in an even tone, “No.”

“No?” Thomas‘ voice suddenly spiked, carrying across the phone to Andrew on the other side of

the table.

Lionel looked at Andrew with amusement, wondering how he would take his brother’s betrayal. Much to his disappointment, Andrew remained impassive.

After ending the call, Lionel said with a hint of intrigue, “It looks like your brother has someone

he’s sweet on.”

“Who?”

“Someone named Seraphina. He reached out to me yesterday morning about her, and now he’s hounding me for an update. I’ve never seen him care this much about anyone.”

“Seraphina?” Andrew recalled the young girl he had met at the school gate.

“You know her?” Lionel asked, his curiosity deepening.

“No, I’ve only seen her once. What happened to her?” Andrew asked, without thinking.

Lionel smirked, clearly doubtful. He wouldn’t be asking if he didn’t know her.

“It’s not a big deal. Apparently, someone online is slandering her, ruining her reputation. To put it in entertainment terms, she’s the target of a smear campaign. She’s likely stuck at home, unable to go outside.”

Andrew logged into an entertainment site and found a video clip almost immediately. He frowned slightly as he watched.

“The video was tampered with to distort the facts.”
