Chapter 200 Chasing Linara Off
“Fine,” Linara said.
“I will have Jack drive you there. Be careful on the way. Don’t rush,” Chloe advised.
Heartlake Island, Pyrin.
In the middle of the flowerbed behind the house, a demure figure knelt, struggling to pull weeds. Oliver walked up to the flowerbed and called to her, “Miss Evelyn, the Whitewood’s eldest daughter has arrived.”
Evelyn looked up. “Linara is here? What does she want?”
“She says she is here to bring Miss Seraphina home.”
To bring Seraphina home?
Evelyn smiled.
Seraphina wasn’t even here. There was no need to come all the way here to get her. Besides, if it was urgent, Linara could have just called.
“Tell her Seraphina is not here.”
Evelyn suspected Linara had another reason for being here. She wasn’t fooled.
Just as Oliver turned to leave, he was stopped.
“Wait a moment.”
Evelyn took out her phone and dialed Seraphina’s number. The call went unanswered.
What was going on? Could Seraphina be out causing trouble while pretending she was here?
Evelyn’s first thought was that something was wrong.
Seraphina had used this trick before.
If Linara wasn’t here just for Seraphina, maybe something had happened to her.
Evelyn’s mind raced as she put down the small trowel and dusted off her clothes.
“I’ll go meet her.”
In the large sitting room, Linara gracefully sat with her back straight as her eyes scanned the
room’s decor.
This was her first time at Heartlake Island, the most luxurious and expensive house in Pyrin. It certainly had more elegance and grandeur than Whitewood Estate.
When Linara heard footsteps behind her, she turned around. She saw Evelyn but no sign of Seraphina.
“What are you here for?”
Linara, apparently unaware of the disdain in Evelyn’s voice, smiled and replied, “I’m here to take Seraphina home.”
“Seraphina? She’s not here. You can leave now,” Evelyn said, shrugging.
From the look on her face, Linara did not believe her. “Seraphina said she would be staying here tonight. How could she not be here?”
Evelyn’s heart skipped a beat.
Oh no, Seraphina isn’t going home tonight. What could she be
up to?
Evelyn cleared her throat and spoke with a false sense of guilt. “I told you she is not here. What do you want me to do about it? If you want to take someone with you, there is no one for you.”
Linara was left speechless. She had never seen a woman behave so shamelessly before. “I will just wait here,” she said.
Heh, playing games with me?
