Shane withdrew his foot, casting a sidelong glance toward the corner.

The young girl dined in peace with elegance and grace. The soft, dappled sunlight from the window. illuminated her face, framing her perfect profile. She looked as poised as a figure in a painting.

While she must have been aware of the fuss, she didn’t show the slightest reaction despite their ridicule.

Cedric Hale noticed that Shane was staring intently towards the corner, so he followed his gaze.

“Shane, your deskmate is unique,” he muttered.

A guy beside them chuckled, “Unique? More like a coward. Even when Caleb mocks her, she just sits there and endures it. What a weakling.”

Shane didn’t respond. Instead, he popped a mini pie into his mouth.

As the people around them overheard Seraphina’s 280-point score, they began to murmur and cast her glances.

There was no need to hear them. It was evident they were mocking her.

Seraphina set down her fork, lifted her teacup with her slender fingers, and took a small sip of tea to cleanse her palate. She rose to her feet and went on to pay her bill.

She spun her cardholder idly in her hand as she approached Linara’s table and came to a stop.

“Losers.”

Her voice wasn’t loud, but in the quiet restaurant, everyone heard her.

The students in the restaurant turned their heads. Their stunned gazes settled on her.

Linara and her group were dumbfounded as well.

“What did you just say?” Kelly snapped. “Say it again.”

Seraphina’s gaze landed on her. She spoke slowly, enunciating each word. “How pathetic. Your ears aren’t working well.”
