Dora glanced at Thomas and then at Michael, who looked at her with eager anticipation. Finally, she nodded and dialed Linara’s number.

“Linara, do you have Seraphina’s number?”

Linara was already inside the venue, surrounded by loud noise and chatter. She could barely hear Dora. “What? What did you say? I can’t hear you!”

After several attempts, Linara finally understood, but unfortunately, her answer was no.

Dora then tried asking Seraphina’s classmates, but every response came back the same–no one had her number.

Michael grew increasingly anxious but could see that Dora had tried her best. The elusive Seraphina seemed to be so reserved that not a single person had her contact information.

“We’ll drop that last song,” Thomas said in a low, firm voice.

Michael panicked immediately. “No! That’s your main track, the one fans are most excited for. If we cut it, they’ll be heartbroken!”

The thought of cutting that song terrified him. It was explicitly listed in the contract with the organizers and the company. Dropping it wasn’t just a creative choice–it could lead to serious

consequences.

“We don’t really need the piano accompaniment—it’ll still sound great without it. If it comes to that, we can just…” Michael’s voice trailed off under Thomas‘ icy stare.

The Fosters‘ obsession with perfection is maddening, he thought. And with Thomas, it was even worse. But sometimes, a little imperfection wasn’t such a bad thing.

Dora, sensing the tension, spoke up timidly. “Well, um, there’s one classmate who might know her number. If I can get her contact info, I should be able to reach Seraphina.”

Michael’s eyes lit up, and he urged her enthusiastically, “Great, hurry and ask!”

With the concert about to begin, time was running out.

Meanwhile, Seraphina, who had been sprinting for miles, finally arrived at the stadium five minutes before the concert was set to begin. Evelyn spotted her from afar, and her tense nerves finally relaxed.

Just then, a ticket scalper approached them discreetly, murmuring, “I’ve got tickets. You need some? Only 4,888 bucks.”

“No, no!” Evelyn waved him off impatiently. She was focused on getting inside and wasn’t about to miss the opening ceremony.

Evelyn pulled two VIP tickets from her pocket and handed them to the ticket attendant, but her phone began ringing incessantly. She ignored it at first, but the caller wouldn’t stop.

“Here, I’ll hold your bag while you answer it.”

As Seraphina took the bag, a pair of rough hands suddenly reached in, snatching the tickets out of Evelyn’s grip.

In that split second, Seraphina instinctively clutched the bag tightly, but to her surprise, the thief wasn’t after it. He had gone straight for the tickets in Evelyn’s hand.

Evelyn froze in shock, staring blankly as the thief bolted away with their tickets.
