With the mask found, Seraphina didn’t linger any longer. She bid farewell to Thomas and Michael and was about to leave when Thomas stopped her.
He took the fox mask from Michael and gave it to her, saying, “You found it. Now it’s yours.”
Gasps rippled through the onlookers, many exchanging regretful glances.
“I appreciate it, but there’s no need,” Seraphina gently declined, considering they had just met, which was far too precious.
However, Thomas wasn’t about to take no for an answer. Without hesitation, he slipped the mask into her bag. “It may not be valuable to me, but it could truly shine in your hands. You’re its rightful owner. Think of it as my payment–you deserve this.”
Recognizing his persistence, Seraphina chose not to argue further. She nodded lightly and hurried off with her bag.
Most of the crowd had dispersed outside the stadium, leaving only a handful of fans lingering by the exits. As she stepped out, they rushed toward her but quickly retreated when they realized she wasn’t Thomas.
Evelyn spotted her from a distance and came running.
“What took you so long? I’ve been waiting forever!” she asked, her voice a mix of curiosity and impatience.
Seraphina discreetly glanced at the lingering fans and paparazzi. “Let’s discuss this in the car,” she spoke softly.
Evelyn led her to Zone D, where a sleek, understated Rolls–Royce waited. As they approached, the driver stepped out and opened the door respectfully.
“Miss Evelyn,” he greeted politely, giving Seraphina a faint nod as well.
Evelyn was about to respond when she saw the man in the back. He was perfectly dressed in a tailored suit, his long legs crossed in a relaxed manner, and he exuded an air of calm authority and aloofness.
“Uncle Jason? What are you doing here?” Evelyn blurted, surprised. She had expected Oliver to pick her up, not her intimidating uncle. Had she known, she might have opted for a cab
instead.
“I was just passing by,” Jason replied quietly and distantly. He scarcely raised his gaze, his piercing dark eyes momentarily meeting Seraphina’s before returning to an indifferent focus.

“Get in,” he added simply.

“Oh.” Evelyn nodded quickly, her usual confidence nowhere to be seen. Seraphina followed, giving Jason a polite nod before sliding into the car.
Typically outgoing and vocal, Evelyn now sat rigidly, her ladylike posture exaggerated as if seeking to impress. Jason’s presence impacted her, making the air feel thicker and the atmosphere nearly oppressive. She stole a glance at Seraphina, who remained calm and unaffected, her poise unruffled.
Noticing Evelyn’s tension, Seraphina retrieved an item from her bag.
“What’s this?” Evelyn curiously asked as she took the item and opened it. Her face lit up a moment later, and she excitedly squealed.
“Is this- Oh my God! It’s Thomas‘ autograph!” she practically shouted, clutching the though it were made of gold.
