Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 562

The main doors to the hall creaked open, and everyone’s attention snapped to the entrance. For a split second, it felt like the entire room forgot how to breathe. Was that… Ms. Ballard? No, that couldn’t be.

If the woman standing at the door was Ms. Ballard, then who was the one already up front?

And if the one at the front was Ms. Ballard, then who was this woman at the entrance who looked exactly like her?

The guests stared, their faces frozen with shock. Two women, mirror images of each other, down to the last detail of their dresses. It was unreal, like someone had copied and pasted them into the same room. Whispered gasps and scattered voices rippled through the crowd.

“My god, what is happening? This… this can’t be real…”

“There are two Ms. Ballards? They look exactly the same. Am I seeing double?”

“I see it too. There’s no way this is a trick of the light.”

The party was in chaos. People kept shifting their gaze from the woman at the door to the one at the front, confusion written all over their faces.

Claire stood at the front, her pulse skipping wildly as she locked eyes with Madeline, who had just walked in. Her hands curled into fists, nails digging into her palms. A wave of panic crashed over her. Madeline had made it in. She hadn’t been stopped. And the dress she was wearing matched Claire’s perfectly. How was this even possible?

Claire tried to keep her expression neutral, but fear flickered across her face anyway. Madeline strode forward, every step confident and unhurried.

Off to the side, Sam and Brendan exchanged excited grins, practically buzzing with anticipation. The drama was about to hit its peak.

“Do you have no shame at all? Are you really that desperate to take my place?”

She turned to address the guests, her tone growing even harsher.

“What would you all do with someone this stubborn and shameless? She’s tried again and again to use her looks to steal what’s rightfully mine.”

Claire’s words set the mood instantly, making Madeline out to be the villain. The crowd erupted into even louder whispers and murmurs.

“So that’s what’s happening. I heard there was some scandal at the Ballard estate about a real and fake heiress. Guess it’s true. How could anyone be this shameless? She got caught and thrown out, and still has the nerve to show up here? Who does she think she is?”
