Chapter 12 Ms. Green, You're Such a Charmer!

David did not dare to disobey Benjamin.

Although Benjamin and they were peers, he had done so well in his career that he indeed overpowered them.

David winked at Madelyn. "I'll wait for you in the car."

Madelyn forced a smile.

When David left, a few police officers saw the vibe get weird, chuckled, and said, "Now that Mr. Clark wants to have a private conversation, we're gonna get out of here right now."

Madelyn was speechless.

When everything was completely quiet, Benjamin lowered his head and played with a cigarette between his fingers. His fingers were long and strong, and he was still so charming even when he was doing something simple like that.

A moment later, he looked up at her. "Ms. Green, you're such a charmer."

Madelyn froze for a moment.

She instinctively defended herself. "What happened today has nothing to do with..."

"You're gonna tell me it has nothing to do with you?" Benjamin's faint smile was mocking. "Ms. Green, can't you guess why they fought?"

The blood drained from Madelyn's face.

All her explanations were flimsy and lame in the face of the powerful Benjamin. He didn't allow anyone to question him because he was Benjamin Clark, the best barrister in the country.

Madelyn was just an insignificant weed.

She was aggrieved, her eyes filled with tears. "Mr. Clark, you can rest assured that I will never get involved in your sister's relationship."

Benjamin suddenly got up and walked straight towards her.

Madelyn did not move a muscle.

She just stared up at him with watery eyes, overwhelmed.

Benjamin looked down at her and reached out his palm to touch her delicate face. Madelyn felt humiliated and looked away in embarrassment.

Benjamin spoke in a soft voice, "Ms. Green, you must not resign yourself to this. Daniel was the one who cheated on you with Eloise. And now it makes you look like the other woman. You feel wronged, don't you?"

"No!"

"Are you still thinking about him?"

"I'm not!"
